The intense activity lasted for God knew how long because Shen Qi felt as if her body no longer belonged to her. All her senses seemed to be under Ye Moxuan’s control, and in the end, she slumped against him in a daze without knowing where she was.
After a long time, Ye Moxuan withdrew from her and hooked his arms under hers. He pushed her toward the blanket at the side while sneering at her in relish.
At that moment, his ruthless expression made him look just like a playboy.
“Miss Second-marriage, you have such a lewd body.”
Upon coming into contact with the soft blanket against her back, Shen Qi shut her eyes subconsciously out of exhaustion. However, Ye Moxuan’s icy tone rang loud out of nowhere, and it felt as if a bucket of ice-cold water poured over her head in the middle of winter. With that, she came to her senses.
Shen Qi opened her eyes, and she saw Ye Moxuan’s evil and mocking smile. Her heart clenched in pain, and she grabbed the blanket to cover her body while glaring at him in shame and anger.
Ye Moxuan reached out to pinch her chin, and Shen Qi struggled against him but couldn’t set herself free, so she had no choice but to glare back at him.
“You better take good care of your body because from today onward, I will check your body every night. If I find out that you are unfaithful or have performed any lewd acts…”
He left his sentence hanging, but he was obviously threatening her.
“Ye Moxuan, who gave you the right to treat me this way? Do you think that you are allowed to check my body just because you say so? What do you take me for?”
After his seductions earlier, humiliation was the only thing that she could feel, and Ye Moxuan’s words were like daggers to Shen Qi’s heart.
Her eyes were red with tears when she yelled at Ye Moxuan.
Ye Moxuan found that it was unbearable when he saw her eyes turn red with tears. However, when he saw the photographs from the corner of his eye, Ye Moxuan recalled once again that Shen Qi had hung out with Ye Linhan over a meal of hot pot. In fact, the fact that they looked like a couple in the pictures somehow infuriated Ye Moxuan further.
Hence, Ye Moxuan answered her with words that were like daggers dipped in poison.
“Who gives me the right? Your family gave me the right to do so because you are the woman whom the Shen family has sent over to keep my bed warm. Is that reason good enough for you?”
The color completely drained from Shen Qi’s face, and she was most probably too angry at that moment; hence, her face was void of expression. She merely stared back at Ye Moxuan with a pale look, and her ghostly white lips were trembling in silence.
She did not utter another word; after a few moments, she lowered her eyes and looked as though she had nothing left to live for.
That’s right. I have no right to resist.
From the day I replaced Shen Yue to marry into the Ye family, my fate has been sealed.
If Ye Moxuan had not signed a six-month contract with her, she would belong to Ye Moxuan for the rest of her life unless he was willing to divorce her.
Shen Qi felt horrible at the thought of that, and she turned around while wrapping herself with the blanket.

Silent tears started rolling down from the corners of her eyes, and they disappeared the moment they seeped into her pillow.
Shen Qi was oblivious to what was going on behind her back, but she heard some swishing sound of Ye Moxuan wearing clothes. She then heard the sound of the wheels rolling afterward.
It was only then Shen Qi confirmed that Ye Moxuan had left.
This was her first time crying so much ever since she joined the Ye family. Her tears fell like a broken string of pearls and continued rolling down her cheeks. Her body ached constantly, while her swollen lips and marks all over her body were a reminder of his humiliation earlier.
She wasn’t quite sure how long she had lay in bed, but all of a sudden, she felt slight discomfort in her abdomen. She pushed herself up with her arms and made her way to the bathroom, but she realized her underwear was smeared with some blood.
Initially, Shen Qi thought that she was having her period.
However, she thought that didn’t seem quite right because she was already pregnant, so she shouldn’t be having her period.
She heard from others that it was important to be careful about having intercourses during the first three months of pregnancy, but she had completely forgotten about it.
When she thought of that, she ignored the aching and throbbing in her legs as Shen Qi packed her things in a hurry and changed into fresh clothes before rushing to the hospital.
After checking her condition, the doctor wore a complicated expression while asking her tentatively. “You are pregnant for two months, am I right?”
Shen Qi nodded in silence.
“Where is your husband?”
Shen Qi’s expression changed when she heard that, but she mumbled a reply anyway. “H-He is busy with work.”
The doctor could sense that she was upset, so her tone deepened slightly as if she was trying to convey a hidden message. “During the first three months of pregnancy, it’s important for both husband and wife to take note of the frequency of intercourse. Furthermore, it’s important to not overexert yourself, and your body is weak too. If this sort of thing is to happen again, I can’t guarantee the well-being of your child.”
Shen Qi was rendered speechless, but she nodded in embarrassment. “I understand. I will take note of that in the future.”
I will prescribe some prenatal pills for you, and you should take them accordingly when you reach home. Take note of your diet and get enough rest. If you feel unwell, refrain from having intercourses, do you understand that?” Toward the end, the doctor seemed to notice Shen Qi’s dilemma, so she added, “As a future mother, you should protect your child well, do you understand me?”
“Thank you, doctor!” Shen Qi threw her a grateful glance. After retrieving her medication, Shen Qi left the hospital straightaway.
She bumped into Lin Jiang just when she exited the hospital.
Lin Jiang parked his car, and he jogged toward her while asking her with a sly smile. “Hey, what a coincidence, Qi! I didn’t expect to bump into you here. Why are you here at the hospital?”
The past came flooding back when Shen Qi saw Lin Jiang, and her gaze turned icy-cold. She marched forward without responding to him.
However, Lin Jiang caught up to her and pulled her hand while speaking to her earnestly. “Qi, please don’t ignore me, I have something to tell you.”
Shen Qi’s expression darkened, and she pushed his arm away. “I have nothing to say to you,” she countered coldly.
“But I have something to tell you, Qi. Just give me a chance, and let’s have a chat in a café nearby.”
With that, Shen Qi stopped dead in her tracks. A café nearby?
She asked with a smile, “Will it be my treat?”
Multiple expressions flashed across Lin Jiang’s face as he struggled to answer her. “O-Of course not. It’s my treat.”
“No thanks,” Shen Qi replied with a smirk before retreating backward. “Lin Jiang, please get this through that thick skull of yours—you and I are divorced. We are not related in any way at all, so please don’t follow me.”
Shen Qi turned around to leave after saying her piece of mind. Initially, she thought that she couldn’t be clearer than that, but she underestimated how shameless Lin Jiang could be. He strode toward her while following her from behind again. “Who says that we are no longer related? What kind of check-up were you having in the hospital just now?”
Shen Qi almost tripped on her own foot when she heard that.
Does Lin Jiang know?
“Why do you care what check-up I had? Lin Jiang, there is no need for you to be concerned about me. Stop following me!”
She quickened her footsteps, hoping to leave this place as soon as possible.
Lin Jiang caught up to her again and tugged against her arm roughly. “Shen Qi, how dare you continue with your pretense? Are you pregnant? Who is the child’s father?” he yelled at her.
His face was turning purple when he asked, “I have never laid a finger on you before, have I? But here you are, pregnant with someone’s child. Shen Qi, damn you. Did you cheat on me with another man?”
Shen Qi was rendered speechless by his sudden outburst.
Passersby around them started throwing them odd looks as well, but Lin Jiang was completely shameless because the more he yelled, the more savage he became.
“Who would have expected that? You look like an innocent and simple girl on the surface, but you are actually doing such filthy things behind my back. Is the child’s father the man you met last time? When did you sleep with him?”
