The man thought she took the bait and he wouldn’t be sleeping alone tonight.
Who knew that when he leaned over, he had to hear her say the words that would stop him dead in his tracks.
He only reacted after a short pause. “Your boyfriend? You’re kidding me right? Why are you not sitting with him if he is your boyfriend?”
“This is our thing. We like to roleplay when we arrive at the bar. We are quite far apart now, but if you dare make a move on me, he will come over immediately.” Then, Jiang Xiaobai raised the edge of one side of her lips and smiled at the man smugly and confidently. “You can try your luck if you don’t believe me.”
The man was at a loss for words.
He suddenly looked toward where Yan pointed and looked back at Jiang Xiaobai. Suddenly, his lip cracked open as walked toward the man she pointed at.
She let out a breath of relief when Jiang Xiaobai saw him walk away, thinking he had given up, but when she took a second glance at where he was headed, her expression instantly changed completely.
What is this man trying to do? Is he trying to expose me right here? D*mn! She initially just wanted to trick him into leaving, but she never thought he would actually try something like this.
It was so irritating.
Xiao Su just came over to the bar for a few drinks after a busy day at work. The moment he was drinking his first glass, some overly-friendly guy just rested his hands on Xiao Su’s shoulder and said to him menacingly, “Bro, are you here alone?”
The man reeked of alcohol and the fragrance of women’s perfume. The mixture of the smells caused Xiao Su to frown and turn around, then he snapped in an icy cold tone, “Let go of me.”
The man initially thought of chatting him up, but he didn’t expect Xiao Su to look so unfriendly when he turned his head over. The scar on his face looked menacing under the flashy lights of the bar, freezing him with fear.
However, almost instantly, he responded and casually said, “Bro, it isn’t right for you to take your girlfriend to a bar and ignore her. This isn’t the way to be a boyfriend to her.”
Xiao Su kept quiet and stared at him as though he was retarded and continued drinking; he had no intentions to respond to him at all.
The man also read his gaze and understood what it meant. He’s looking at me as if he’s looking at a retard. He was slightly pissed off since he felt he was being fooled. Then, he laughed dryly as he pointed to the girl at the other end. “Isn’t that lady your girlfriend? She was just telling me you are her boyfriend.”
Xiao Su said coldly, “Are you done?”
The man then replied, “Bro, enjoy your drink. I shan’t bother you any longer.”
The man went and returned. Jiang Xiaobai guessed as much. She initially just wanted to find a reason to chase the man away, but who’d have thought he’d actually go right up to ask him. This man was just unbelievable.
Even then, Jiang Xiaobai didn’t panic, because she had more ideas in the pipeline. In fact, she already thought of another story, so when the man returned, she angrily looked at the man and asked, “Let me ask you; did he tell you he isn’t my boyfriend?”
The man thought that Jiang Xiaobai would panic now that her lie had been exposed, but never did he think she would actually be mad. It was puzzling to him, but since he had nothing better to do, he just played along with her.
“Pretty miss, lying isn’t a good habit. I was just trying to buy you a drink, you didn’t have to—”
“Help me go back and ask him if he really wants to break up with me since he said he’s not my boyfriend!” Jiang Xiaobai placed both her hands on either side of her hips. Her pretty, fair face was slightly pale from the anger as she shot him an angry glare.
The man was convinced by her words and paused in a daze for a bit before asking, “What… What do you actually mean?”
“Don’t you understand? Help me ask him if he really wants to break up with me. If he really meant it, I will stop seeing him!”
The man said, “Err…”
“Hurry up. Don’t you like asking questions? Go on.”
The man couldn’t help but roll his eyes in his mind and think, Who do you think I am? Why should I go just because you asked me to?
However, he still felt like she was just putting on an act, so he just stared at her.
“I say, little lady, I just wanted to buy you a drink. Did you have to put on such an act for me? If a lady like you can come to a bar, then why can’t you just accept a simple offer such as a drink?”
These words angered Jiang Xiaobai and made her spurn the man before her.
What do you mean by why can’t I accept a drink just because a lady like me comes to a bar? She then scoffed and said, “What do you mean by that? Bars are no longer what they were before. I just plainly came here for drinks, so what does that have to do with you at all?”
“Come on.” The man continued to act casually. “Who doesn’t know what kind of place a bar is? Do you see those body collectors by the door? At this day and age, you’re telling me you come to the bar plainly just for drinks? Fine, then I’ll be just plainly treating you to a drink, so would you accept my offer?”
Jiang Xiaobai just mocked him with an insincere laugh, not wanting to respond to him.
The man just wouldn’t give up.
Actually, he wasn’t like this normally. Normally, he would just switch targets when his target declined his offer, but he just loved a challenge, especially girls that played hard to get like that. Those girls that usually act pure and demure didn’t really catch his attention, because he felt that those girls were just too fake.
However, the lady, Jiang Xiaobai before his eyes looked pure, yet the aura that was emanating from her suggested that she wasn’t putting on an act of innocence. She was so sincere from her voice to her actions.
Although she looked sweet on the surface, inside her was a straightforward girl that pretty much feared nothing and was independent.

He wouldn’t give up and picked up his glass of alcohol before he walked closer to Jiang Xiaobai.
“Little lady, I just sincerely wanted to buy you a drink, just one drink, so what do you say? On the account of all my asking, just drink this glass of alcohol and I will leave.”

She ignored him and just continued drinking her own alcohol while saying, “It’s fine if you don’t want to leave. You can just stay here till my boyfriend gets back. Although we argued, both our families are connected together in more ways than one. If he were to see me getting bullied, he wouldn’t sit by and do nothing.”
“Boyfriend?” The man’s tongue brushed across his teeth as he stared at where Xiao Su was sitting, then he smiled mysteriously. “You are really making a habit out of this lying thing, little lady. Well then, let me help you test your boyfriend’s loyalty and protectiveness of you then.”
Immediately after that, the man didn’t hold back and directly grabbed Jiang Xiaobai by the shoulder and laughed sinisterly. “How’s this? As a man, he probably wouldn’t be able to stand it if he saw his woman in another man’s arms, right?”
