Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 1127

Mr. Nan felt that he was not in the place to say anything since Han Qing was insistent. After all, I can’t say much about what goes on when it comes to relationship matters because I’m an old person. I suppose President Han would know what’s best. After Yan headed upstairs, Han Qing instructed Mr. Nan to drive away.

Yan walked into her house barefooted in a daze. She had removed her shoes in the car, so she did not take them with her when she left the car. Hence, she walked all the way home barefooted. Then, she entered the house after scanning her fingerprint. She entered the house and just when she turned around, she immediately saw Luo Huimei, who stood nearby.

Luo Huimei’s arms were folded in front of her chest while staring at her daughter in fascination. “Are you finally home? I see that you’re wearing a beautiful dress. Could the person who sent you home be—”

“Stop asking! I don’t want to talk! There’s nothing going on!!” Yan snapped at Luo Huimei emotionally at the mention of this matter.

Luo Huimei realized that Yan looked rather pale. In fact, the latter’s eyes were turning red as she spoke. After a pause, she approached Yan in a hurry. “What is it?” She was happy in the afternoon when she left. Why is she in such a state after returning home? Luo Huimei was unsure of what happened and immediately panicked because her daughter’s eyes were reddened with tears, so the former persistently asked, “Did something happen? Who did you go out with? Did the person who sent you home bully you?”

It would have been fine if Luo Huimei never asked anything because Yan would have been able to control her emotions. In fact, the latter would have returned to her bedroom with a blank expression, shower and head off to bed like a robot. However, with a concerned mother hovering over her like an eagle, Yan lost her cool and broke down. Her lips parted as if she wanted to say something to Luo Huimei, but before the former could make a sound, tears in the shape of beans rolled down the latter’s cheeks before it flowed down in abandonment.

Luo Huimei hurriedly wiped away Yan’s tears. “Don’t cry. Tell me, what happened?”

“Sobs…” Yan wanted to explain, but she couldn’t form a coherent sentence. She leaned forward into Luo Huimei’s arms before being wrapped in an embrace by the latter. Soon, Luo Huimei’s shoulder was wet with a patch of tears. She wanted to ask, but knew that she would never receive an answer from her daughter, judging from the latter’s state of mind. Luo Huimei temporarily gave up on the questioning and patted Yan’s shoulders soothingly instead. “Yan, good girl. Let’s not talk about it. Don’t cry, please. Good girl.”

Mr. Zhou had prepared to head off to bed, but he heard the commotion outside the room, so he came out to check on the mother and daughter. He was about to approach them when he saw how Yan cried her eyes out. However, Luo Huimei gestured for him to stay where he was before asking him to go back to the room and not to come out without any reason. Although Mr. Zhou felt helpless, he still returned to his room anyway.

Yan was unsure of the length of time that she cried for, but in the end, Luo Huimei led her back into the former’s room. After that, she lacked the energy to shower, so she slumped into her bed while still wearing the white dress.

“Are you tired? Why don’t you sleep first? You can have a shower after a good night’s sleep.”

Yan nodded. Her eyes were slightly swollen after crying, making her look especially pitiful while she lay in bed. Luo Huimei felt her heart throbbing in pain, so she took a wet towel to clean Yan’s face. Then, she touched her daughter’s forehead while assuring her, “Alright now, have a good night’s sleep. I am here with you.”

Yan closed her eyes, but she still gripped Luo Huimei’s hand. Maybe it was because she had worn herself out after crying because she swiftly fell asleep.

Mr. Zhou exited the room since it was quiet outside and peeked into Yan’s room secretly to ensure that everything was fine. Luo Huimei heard the door creaked, so she turned to glare at Mr. Zhou before motioning to him with a snarl to return to sleep. However, Mr. Zhou opened the door to enter the room. “What’s going on?” he mouthed at her.

Luo Huimei glared at him viciously while whispering, “Why did you come in? Didn’t I tell you to head back into the room and sleep? Don’t be such a busybody.”

Mr. Zhou was at a loss for words. “What do you mean that I’m a busybody? Yan is my daughter too. Am I not allowed to care now?”

Luo Huimei explained, “It’s already so late. Can’t you see that she’s fast asleep? How are you going to care for her right now?”

Mr. Zhou decided not to continue arguing with his wife after she scolded him, hence, he turned to focus on his daughter. Luo Huimei had already tucked her under the quilt, so only her face was visible. Mr. Zhou clearly saw that her eyes were red and swollen. “What happened? Why did my daughter cry? Did someone bully her?”

After weighing her options, Luo Huimei slowly pulled her hand away from Yan after confirming that the latter was fast asleep. Then, she motioned for Mr. Zhou to go out with her. The two of them snuck out of the room stealthily before closing the room door behind them and sitting in the living room.

“What happened? I’m panicking now. As her father, don’t I have the right to know why my daughter was crying her eyes out?”

Luo Huimei looked up into his eyes when she heard that. “Why would you panic? I would have told you if I knew about it. Yan didn’t seem right the moment she returned home just now. I merely asked her some questions, but she started to bawl her eyes out. Oh, are you expecting me to interrogate her when she’s crying her heart out? Tell me, right now!”

A shocked Mr. Zhou replied, “Well, that’s not what I meant. I just thought you knew, which is why I asked.”

“I’m not sure what happened to her, but she’s emotionally unstable. I think it’s related to her relationship issues.”

Mr. Zhou looked intimidated at the mention of relationship issues. “Sigh, you can’t keep a girl home after a certain age.”

Luo Huimei replied, “Let her sleep well. She must have worn herself out crying. If there’s anything, we’ll discuss more about it tomorrow.”

“Sure, we’ll ask her tomorrow.”

“You have to promise that you will not force her if she’s unwilling to explain.”

Mr. Zhou answered promptly, “What kind of person do you think I am? Do I look like that kind of person? I can’t believe you think of me like that!” He was so frustrated that he stormed into his room whereas Luo Huimei remained in the living room while sighing helplessly. She did not tell Mr. Zhou about the car she saw downstairs earlier.

She might not have been familiar with cars, but Mr. Zhou was interested in them and would share more about them with her. Hence, Luo Huimei immediately was able to tell that the car was a pricey one. We are just an ordinary family. How could we possibly be associated with such a rich family? It’s most probably Yan’s relationship with whoever it was in that car. However, Yan is so heartbroken right now. It looks like it’s not good news…

“What right do you have to stay by my side? I’ve rejected you countless times. Don’t you understand Chinese? Perhaps, are you so stupid that you don’t understand what I mean?”

“You guys, look at that woman! She’s so ridiculous. She’s throwing himself at the man despite being rejected countless times! Doesn’t she have any self-esteem?”

“I think she must be shameless. He told her clearly that he would never fall for her, but she’s always hanging onto him. Even a stalker isn’t as disgusting as she is.”

“She’s asking for it! She’s so disgusting! If I were her, I would rather die than to embarrass myself like her!”

Yan opened her eyes abruptly and woke up from her nightmare.
