Nothing To Give But My Heart Chapter 1051

I don’t have that kind of genes, okay? After listening to those words, Luo Huimei carefully examined Yan, then glanced over at Little Bean, as if she was comparing them. After a moment, she nodded. “You’re right. With your looks, you won’t be able to give birth to such a good-looking child.”

Yan kept silent. Although what her mother said was the truth, why did it sound especially hurtful when it came out of her mother’s mouth? She felt depressed, but even so, she explained, “Little Bean just came back from overseas today; he wanted to meet me, so I went over to pick him up. After this, we will be going back home together. I don’t think there would be enough time for me to visit the hospital again today aside from delivering the food. Mom, please take care of Dad.”

From the start, Luo Huimei had been grateful toward Han Muzi. Now that she knew Little Bean was Han Muzi’s son, she nodded her head repeatedly. “Alright, alright. You better treat him well. Since he just got back, why don’t you let him try the classic snacks near our place? But, choose wisely; don’t just pick a random roadside stall. Otherwise, the kid might fall ill. Do you understand, Yan?”

Yan replied, “I got it, Mom; I understand.”

“Aunt Zhou, I’m not picky. Besides, Aunt Yan treats me very well; don’t worry.”

Luo Huimei immediately laughed happily when she heard those words. “Oh, my! Look at how sensible this kid is! How smart you are! If you look so exquisite and delicate, how good-looking must your parents be?” She could almost imagine how the parents of Little Bean looked like—they most certainly were good-looking and had a high IQ!

Yan began tidying up her stuff as she uttered, “Alright, why don’t the two of you start eating? I’m going to bring Little Bean sight-seeing. We’ll find some time to come over tonight. Little Bean, say your goodbyes.”

“Goodbye, Uncle Zhou and Aunt Zhou. I’ll come to visit you again on another day.”

“Sure, sure, sure.”

“Take care, little President Ye. Please let me know in advance the next time you come over; I’ll prepare a gift for you.”

Yan did not bother replying. After extricating Little Bean from the hospital with much difficulty, she finally let out a breath of relief. She stroked his head lightly, and gently said, “My parents are a little rough, but they are extremely friendly. Were you frightened by them, Little Bean?”

He shook his head, and replied warmly, “I wasn’t, Aunt Yan. Uncle Zhou and Aunt Zhou were very nice; I like them a lot.”

“What a silver tongue!” She broke out into a smile. Then, she bent down and picked him up. “I’ll bring you home right now.” Afterward, she brought him home with her. Just as she was about to start cooking lunch, he poked his head into the kitchen. “Aunt Yan, why don’t we go out to eat?”

Puzzled, she put down the vegetable in her hand. “What’s wrong? Didn’t you say you want to eat my cooking? Why do you want to go out all of a sudden?”

He hid his phone behind his back, a cunning expression flashing across his eyes. “Aunt Yan, I’m craving for the steamed fish from XX restaurant. I checked it out online just now; it has pretty good reviews.”

“The steamed fish from XX restaurant?” She furrowed her brows. It wasn’t a place she was familiar with. While she was still hesitating, he walked over to her and tugged at the corner of her shirt.

“Aunt Yan, can we go, please? Let’s go together. We’ll come back for dinner, okay?” Little Bean was putting on his coy act for her, so how could she refuse him? She nodded helplessly. “Alright, since you want to eat it so much, I’ll accompany you there today.”

“Yay!”

After cleaning up a little, Yan brought him out with her again. As they were heading downstairs, she asked, “By the way, did you send a message to your mommy saying that you’re out with me, Little Bean? Don’t wait until she starts worrying when she can’t find you. I’m telling you, Little Bean; your mommy is pregnant right now. It’s bad for her pregnancy if she gets worried; do you understand?”

He was holding his phone and typing into it furiously. “I know, Aunt Yan. I’m messaging her right now.”

Seeing as he was holding his phone and replied to her cheerfully, she did not bother to ask about the contents of his message. Anyhow, she wasn’t worried about the things he did. As they rounded the corner, they ran into Mrs. Zhang from next door.

Mrs. Zhang smiled brightly at Yan. She opened her mouth to say something, but in the next moment, she saw that Yan was accompanied by a small child. She stopped in her tracks at the sight and seemed to forget what she wanted to say in the first place. “T-This is…”

Not wanting to talk too much to the nosy Mrs. Zhang, yet worried that she might spread weird rumors, Yan had no choice but to explain, “Mrs. Zhang, this is my friend’s son. He just came back from overseas today and decided to come over to my house to play. Little Bean, greet Mrs. Zhang.”

“Hi, Mrs. Zhang.”

Mrs. Zhang seemed overwhelmed by the greeting as she stared at Little Bean. Then, Yan held his hand. “I’m going to bring this kid back to his mother, Mrs. Zhang. We’ll take our leave now.”

Afterward, Yan left with Little Bean. As they walked away, they could hear Mrs. Zhang whispering about something as she looked at them from not too far away. Although they couldn’t make out what she was mumbling about, Yan was sure the words she was saying were unpleasant. Alas, she couldn’t be bothered about it. Thus, she called for a taxi and brought him to the restaurant.

When they entered, he pulled her along to speak to a waitress. The waitress immediately smiled and said, “The third VIP private room, right? Please come with me.” Then, the waitress led them to a private room.

After taking a seat, Yan looked around the big private room, then looked at Little Bean expressionlessly. “Little guy, do you know that we are only here to eat? Why did you have to make such a big spectacle over it? It’s not a good habit to be such a spendthrift at your age; even if you are rich, you need to be careful with your money. Do you understand?”

“I understand, Aunt Yan. I won’t do it again next time.” He stuck out his tongue at her, making an expression that said he understood his mistake and would not repeat it.

She did not continue to scold him seeing as he was aware of his mistakes. Thus, they sat down and began to order. Noticing that he was ordering a lot of dishes, she frowned. “Didn’t I just tell you not to spend your money so carelessly? There’s only the two of us here; why are you ordering so much? How are we going to finish it all?”

He ignored her and continued to convey his orders to the waitress without making any changes. She held in her anger, not wanting to lose her temper in front of the waitress. Once the waitress left, she spoke up angrily, “Little Bean, what’s going on? Didn’t you promise me just now? Why are you…”

“Aunt Yan, you’ll know soon.”

She was dumbstruck. What will I know?

“President Han, please come this way…” Just as she was puzzling over what Little Bean had said, a voice sounded from the other side of the door. The door opened, and a tall, well-built figure entered the private room under the guidance of the waitress.

Yan felt as if her heart stopped the instant she recognized who it was. Why… is he here?
