An Understated Dominance Chapter 2182 by Marina Vittori

Abigail’s words immediately caught the attention of the crowd. Among them, martial artists with a penchant for gambling were particularly eager to join in.

However, everyone hesitated to approach her due to her status as the Grand Sorceress of the Mystic Arts Order.

“Alright, let me start things off!” Taking the initiative, Miles took a pendant and placed it on the table as his bet.

He continued, “I’m betting on Number 28 in the third battle ring. He’s a disciple of the Vanguard Sect, and from what I know, he’s quite formidable. His odds of winning are high.”

Then, he grabbed a piece of paper and jotted down the number 28 before tossing it into the designated matching bowl.

The tournament organizers randomly paired martial artists against each other rather than following a predetermined order to ensure fairness.

When the referee called out a name, the respective participant had to step onto the battle ring promptly. Failure to do so or arriving late would result in disqualification.

Ruby said, “I’ll follow his lead and go with Number 28.”

She pulled a bottle of tablets from her pocket and placed it on the table. ” These haemoplenish tablets work wonders to treat internal and external injuries.”

“Great! I’m open to any bet as long as the item holds value,” Abigail said with a smile.

As the bookie, she wasn’t worried about losing money. Instead, her concern lay in the potential lack of participants. After all, each additional bet would add to her earnings.

Dalen chimed in, “Count me in.”

He opened a sandalwood box that contained a dazzling ruby that looked quite valuable. “I’m betting on Number 15 in the fifth battle ring.”

He scribbled down the number and tossed it into the bowl.

Dalen wasn’t worried about the outcome of the bet. Instead, it was about showing deference to Abigail and spicing things up.

To him, winning was a bonus, and losing would only mean parting with a gemstone, so he didn’t see it as a big deal.

“I don’t have anything valuable except this.” Crystal pulled a short sword from her waist and placed it on the table.

The sword, forged from dark steel, was a foot long with intricate carvings on the hilt and embedded gemstones.

Ruby was surprised and asked, ” Crystal, are you sure you want to bet with this dark steel sword?”

“I hardly ever use it, so why not try my luck?” Crystal replied indifferently.

After all, she already had a long sword. The short one was leftover material from when her long sword was forged, so it didn’t serve much purpose.

“So, who are you betting on?” Ruby asked curiously.

Crystal replied, “I’m placing my bet on Number 6 in the first battle ring.”

“Number 6?” Ruby glanced over to see a female martial artist and seemed

puzzled. “Any particular reason?”

“Just a gut feeling,” Crystal replied, keeping it short and to the point.

“Oh, I see…” Ruby was momentarily at a loss for words. After all, Crystal’s response was hard to argue with.

“Would you like to bet, Sir?” Abigail suddenly turned to Dustin and smiled coyly. “Well, you’re loaded anyway, so losing a bit won’t hurt.”

“You think I’m going to lose?” Dustin smirked. “I’m more concerned about winning and making you nervous.”

“Then, let’s make a bet. Who’s afraid of a little challenge?” She raised her chin defiantly.

He smiled and reached into his pocket to retrieve a bottle of tablets, which he placed on the table. “These are Tigarius tablets. They enhance physical abilities, boost cultivation, and breakthrough realms. This is my wager.

“Tigarius tablets? Now that’s some good stuff!” Abigail’s eyes lit up. “So, who are you betting on?”

Summary An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori

Dahlia Nicholson and Dustin Rhys had been married for three years. After Dahlia’s meteoric rise to success, she abandons the useless dead weight that’s Dustin, proposing divorce. Unbeknownst to her, everything she had ever achieved was only because of him.

Chapter 1 “Dustin, here is the divorce agreement prepared by Ms. Nicholson. All you need to do is sign them.” In the president’s office of the Quine Group, the secretary, Lyra Blaine, placed a piece of A4 paper on the table. A man sat opposite her, dressed in plain clothing. “Divorce? What do you mean?” Dustin Rhys was taken aback. “Do you not understand what I’m saying? Your marriage with Ms. Nicholson is over. You’re not even on the same level anymore. Your existence is nothing but a smear on the president’s reputation!” Lyra pulled no punches as she spoke. “A smear on her reputation?” Dustin frowned. “Is that how she thinks of me?” Back when they first got married, the Nicholson family was in ruinous debt. He was the one who helped them when they were at their lowest point. Now that they were rich, Dahlia Nicholson was ready to just kick him out. “Something like that.” Lyra jerked her chin toward the magazine on the table. A photo of a beautiful woman was printed on the front page. “Look at the headline on this magazine, Dustin. Ms. Nicholson’s net worth has hit one billion in the course of just three years, a feat no short of a miracle. She’s now the most desired woman in Swinton! With all this, she’s destined for greatness. But you, you’re just a regular joe. You don’t deserve her at all. I hope that you’ll see some sense and do the right thing.” When Dustin remained silent, Lyra frowned. “I know you’re not happy with this, but this is reality,” she continued. “You might have helped Ms. Nicholson when she was in trouble, but she has repaid you for everything you’ve done for her over the last three years. In fact, you’re the one who owes her now!” “Is our marriage just a business deal to her, then?” Dustin took a deep breath to suppress the emotions within. “If she wants to divorce me, let her speak to me herself.” “Ms. Nicholson is very busy. She doesn’t need to trouble herself with such trifling matters.” “Trifling matters?” Dustin was stunned. Then he laughed bitterly. “Is that so? Is divorce a trifling matter to her? She can’t even find the time to speak to me. Truly, she’s that unattainable now!” “Dustin, don’t delay this any longer.” Lyra pushed the divorce agreement toward him again. “Just sign here and you’ll get a car and a house as compensation. On top of that, you’ll also get eight million dollars. This is more than what you’ll be able to earn in your lifetime!” “Eight million dollars is a lot, but…I don’t need it. I will sign the divorce papers if she comes personally. Otherwise, I won’t sign anything,” Duston said coldly. “Don’t go too far, Dustin!” Lyra slammed her hand on the table. “Don’t say I didn’t warn you. With all her power and resources, Ms. Nicholson can divorce you easily. It’s only because she appreciates her past relationship with you that she’s allowing you to keep your dignity intact. Don’t provoke her!” “My dignity?” Dustin was a little amused by that. She didn’t even want to speak to him directly to divorce him. What kind of dignity was that? Moreover, if she really did appreciate their relationship, then why was she threatening him now?
