An Understated Dominance Chapter 2128 by Marina Vittori

A moment later, a bunch of martial artists dressed in various styles were lining up to register at the registration booth of Sacred Wrym Summit’s Combat Tournament. Dustin was also among them.

After they confirmed their plan, Dustin was led by Dalen and the others to the registration booth.

Although the sun was going to set soon, there were still many people there to sign up.

However, the Combat Tournament had specific requirements this time. One had to pass a trial to sign up.

The test was simple. One must demonstrate the ability to lift a cauldron.

Sacred Wrym Summit prepared three bronze cauldrons weighing ten thousand pounds, 50 thousand pounds, and 100 thousand pounds.

One would be qualified if they could raise a ten thousand pound cauldron and would be assigned to Group C. If they won after competing with their peers, they could advance to Group B.

Those who could raise a 50 thousand pound cauldron would be considered outstanding, directly advancing to Group B. After winning against their peers, they could advance to Group A.

As for those who could raise a 100 thousand pound cauldron, they were considered top seeds and could directly advance to Group A.

Those from Group A wouldn’t need to take part in Group B and C’s battle.

Once the winners from Group B and C were selected, they would qualify to compete against Group A’s contestants.

In simple terms, the heavier the cauldron one lifted, the higher the rating and the greater the advantage. This allowed contestants to save a lot of physical and mental energy, avoiding meaningless battles.

“Contestant 843 has failed. Next!”

On the square, a medium-sized man gripped the bronze cauldron with both hands. He gritted his teeth, and his face flushed red. Although he mustered all his strength, he failed to lift the ten thousand pound cauldron.

In the end, the referee announced his failure. A ten thousand-pound cauldron could set the difference between a Divine- level martial artist and a Low-level martial artist.

Setting aside those martial artists who were born talented, a Low-level martial artist could only lift a few pounds at most.

In other words, only a Divine-level martial artist could lift a ten thousand- pound cauldron. This threshold directly eliminated those who wanted to give it a try.

If one couldn’t even lift a ten thousand- pound cauldron, they weren’t eligible to compete in a competition filled with talented and skilled martial artists.

“Go away! Let me have a go!” A burly man pushed aside the sighing Contestant 843 and bravely stepped forward.

The burly man wore a blank tank top and had a rugged appearance. His muscles bulged prominently, indicating he was a powerful man.

Firstly, the burly man circled the ten thousand-pound cauldron twice. Then, he grabbed the two sides of the cauldron and lifted it. The heavy bronze cauldron was directly lifted up, dangling several feet above the ground.

“Simply lifting it isn’t enough. You need to raise it over your head!” someone reminded beside him.

“It’s so light! How could it possibly be a challenge for me?” The burly man smiled confidently and lifted the cauldron once more.

“Up you go!” he shouted.

Without pausing, the burly man directly raised the cauldron over his head.

The burly man circled the ground a few times to show off his strength. Many people cheered after seeing how easy it was for him.

“Amazing! You can lift a ten thousand- pound cauldron so easily!”

“He doesn’t seem to be using all his energy, too. He’s quite something.”

“What’s the use of raising a ten thousand-pound cauldron? He just barely passed the test. He should try and lift the 50 thousand-pound cauldron if he’s that capable!”

The contestants lining up to register began to murmur. Their expression varied as some praised him while some looked down on him.

“Contestant 844 has successfully passed the test! Here’s your advancement token. Please take good care of it.”

The examiner handed over a wooden token expressionlessly. The front of it was carved with Sacred Wrym Summit symbol, while the back was his new contestant number.

Instead of taking over the wooden advancement token, the burly man exclaimed, “Wait for a moment! A ten thousand-pound cauldron is too light for me. I want to try this 50 thousand- pound cauldron!”

His words caused even more discussion around him.

“50 thousand pounds? Can he really do it?”

“He might just pull it off judging by his robust physique and how confident he is.”

Summary An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori

Dahlia Nicholson and Dustin Rhys had been married for three years. After Dahlia’s meteoric rise to success, she abandons the useless dead weight that’s Dustin, proposing divorce. Unbeknownst to her, everything she had ever achieved was only because of him.

Chapter 1 “Dustin, here is the divorce agreement prepared by Ms. Nicholson. All you need to do is sign them.” In the president’s office of the Quine Group, the secretary, Lyra Blaine, placed a piece of A4 paper on the table. A man sat opposite her, dressed in plain clothing. “Divorce? What do you mean?” Dustin Rhys was taken aback. “Do you not understand what I’m saying? Your marriage with Ms. Nicholson is over. You’re not even on the same level anymore. Your existence is nothing but a smear on the president’s reputation!” Lyra pulled no punches as she spoke. “A smear on her reputation?” Dustin frowned. “Is that how she thinks of me?” Back when they first got married, the Nicholson family was in ruinous debt. He was the one who helped them when they were at their lowest point. Now that they were rich, Dahlia Nicholson was ready to just kick him out. “Something like that.” Lyra jerked her chin toward the magazine on the table. A photo of a beautiful woman was printed on the front page. “Look at the headline on this magazine, Dustin. Ms. Nicholson’s net worth has hit one billion in the course of just three years, a feat no short of a miracle. She’s now the most desired woman in Swinton! With all this, she’s destined for greatness. But you, you’re just a regular joe. You don’t deserve her at all. I hope that you’ll see some sense and do the right thing.” When Dustin remained silent, Lyra frowned. “I know you’re not happy with this, but this is reality,” she continued. “You might have helped Ms. Nicholson when she was in trouble, but she has repaid you for everything you’ve done for her over the last three years. In fact, you’re the one who owes her now!” “Is our marriage just a business deal to her, then?” Dustin took a deep breath to suppress the emotions within. “If she wants to divorce me, let her speak to me herself.” “Ms. Nicholson is very busy. She doesn’t need to trouble herself with such trifling matters.” “Trifling matters?” Dustin was stunned. Then he laughed bitterly. “Is that so? Is divorce a trifling matter to her? She can’t even find the time to speak to me. Truly, she’s that unattainable now!” “Dustin, don’t delay this any longer.” Lyra pushed the divorce agreement toward him again. “Just sign here and you’ll get a car and a house as compensation. On top of that, you’ll also get eight million dollars. This is more than what you’ll be able to earn in your lifetime!” “Eight million dollars is a lot, but…I don’t need it. I will sign the divorce papers if she comes personally. Otherwise, I won’t sign anything,” Duston said coldly. “Don’t go too far, Dustin!” Lyra slammed her hand on the table. “Don’t say I didn’t warn you. With all her power and resources, Ms. Nicholson can divorce you easily. It’s only because she appreciates her past relationship with you that she’s allowing you to keep your dignity intact. Don’t provoke her!” “My dignity?” Dustin was a little amused by that. She didn’t even want to speak to him directly to divorce him. What kind of dignity was that? Moreover, if she really did appreciate their relationship, then why was she threatening him now?
