An Understated Dominance Chapter 2057 by Marina Vittori

“Isn’t that the case?” Ruby asked, tilting her head in confusion.

“Sacred Wrym Summit has been around for years without getting involved in martial world matters.

“Now, they’re suddenly organizing the Combat Tournament. There must be a hidden reason,” Miles explained.

Organizing talent recruitment to bring honor to the nation might have been fitting for the Martial Arts Union. But with the Sacred Wyrm Summit as the host, it seemed implausible.

“So, tell me, what’s the hidden reason? ” she asked.

“How would I know? I’m just a bystander.” He shrugged, well aware of his role.

“Dalen, since you raised this question, you must have some insider information, right?” Crystal asked.

Dalen replied, “I don’t have any insider information, but I did manage to gather some news.”

He added cryptically, “Word is, there’s a rare treasure appearing in the forbidden area behind Sacred Wrym Summit.

“This treasure doesn’t just impact the destiny of the martial world in the next century. It is also crucial for the fate of our nation.”

Ruby asked excitedly, “What kind of treasure could be so powerful?”

Crystal and Miles shared a surprised look, not quite expecting this.

Whether it was the martial world’s ups and downs or the nation’s fortunes and misfortunes, these were essential matters. Dalen lowered his voice and said, “I believe this treasure is related to the Dracan essence.”

Dustin raised an eyebrow upon hearing this but quickly returned to his usual demeanor.

Curious, Ruby asked, “What’s a Dracan essence?”

With a serious tone, Crystal explained, ” Dracan essence is the core power of the Dracan force.

“When the Dragon Guard was destroyed some time ago, the subterranean Dracan force transformed into five strands of Dracan essence, scattering across the world.

“There’s a rumor that whoever gets hold of the Dracan essence is destined for greatness. They will achieve remarkable success!”

The Dragon Guard got wiped out, and the Dracan force got isolated. It created a big commotion when this happened, and Crystal naturally got wind of it.

“Really? Is it that incredible?” Ruby’s eyes widened.

“I’ve read relevant records in ancient books. Anyone who obtains the Dracan essence becomes a powerful sovereign or a king ruling the land,” Crystal explained.

“Ms. Wesley is right,” Dalen added. ” The Dracan essence is a valuable treasure that can change fate. Even a beggar can rise to the top with it.”

“Hold on!”

Miles seemed to have realized something and suddenly said, “If the Dracan essence is the extraordinary treasure hidden in the forbidden area of Sacred Wrym Summit, could this Combat Tournament be about deciding who gets it?”

“It’s possible.” Dalen nodded.

He continued, “Although Sacred Wrym Summit usually stays above worldly matters, the appearance of this treasure is a twist of fate. They can’t go against destiny.

“Fortunately, they decided to hold a Combat Tournament, allowing us to compete for it. Whoever wins will be deemed as chosen by destiny!”

“Oh, I get it,” the group murmured, looking thoughtful.

If Dalen were right, this Combat Tournament at Sacred Wrym Summit would be exceptionally intense.

Rare treasures that could change a person’s fate were hard to come by, and no faction would easily let it slip.

“Hurry up! There’s a fighting stage ahead. Let’s go check it out!”

As they walked, they heard a commotion ahead. They saw a crowd gathering, indicating that something significant was happening.

“What’s all this excitement? Come on, let’s go take a look!” Dalen suddenly became interested. He folded his fan and headed toward the commotion.

Summary An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori

Dahlia Nicholson and Dustin Rhys had been married for three years. After Dahlia’s meteoric rise to success, she abandons the useless dead weight that’s Dustin, proposing divorce. Unbeknownst to her, everything she had ever achieved was only because of him.

Chapter 1 “Dustin, here is the divorce agreement prepared by Ms. Nicholson. All you need to do is sign them.” In the president’s office of the Quine Group, the secretary, Lyra Blaine, placed a piece of A4 paper on the table. A man sat opposite her, dressed in plain clothing. “Divorce? What do you mean?” Dustin Rhys was taken aback. “Do you not understand what I’m saying? Your marriage with Ms. Nicholson is over. You’re not even on the same level anymore. Your existence is nothing but a smear on the president’s reputation!” Lyra pulled no punches as she spoke. “A smear on her reputation?” Dustin frowned. “Is that how she thinks of me?” Back when they first got married, the Nicholson family was in ruinous debt. He was the one who helped them when they were at their lowest point. Now that they were rich, Dahlia Nicholson was ready to just kick him out. “Something like that.” Lyra jerked her chin toward the magazine on the table. A photo of a beautiful woman was printed on the front page. “Look at the headline on this magazine, Dustin. Ms. Nicholson’s net worth has hit one billion in the course of just three years, a feat no short of a miracle. She’s now the most desired woman in Swinton! With all this, she’s destined for greatness. But you, you’re just a regular joe. You don’t deserve her at all. I hope that you’ll see some sense and do the right thing.” When Dustin remained silent, Lyra frowned. “I know you’re not happy with this, but this is reality,” she continued. “You might have helped Ms. Nicholson when she was in trouble, but she has repaid you for everything you’ve done for her over the last three years. In fact, you’re the one who owes her now!” “Is our marriage just a business deal to her, then?” Dustin took a deep breath to suppress the emotions within. “If she wants to divorce me, let her speak to me herself.” “Ms. Nicholson is very busy. She doesn’t need to trouble herself with such trifling matters.” “Trifling matters?” Dustin was stunned. Then he laughed bitterly. “Is that so? Is divorce a trifling matter to her? She can’t even find the time to speak to me. Truly, she’s that unattainable now!” “Dustin, don’t delay this any longer.” Lyra pushed the divorce agreement toward him again. “Just sign here and you’ll get a car and a house as compensation. On top of that, you’ll also get eight million dollars. This is more than what you’ll be able to earn in your lifetime!” “Eight million dollars is a lot, but…I don’t need it. I will sign the divorce papers if she comes personally. Otherwise, I won’t sign anything,” Duston said coldly. “Don’t go too far, Dustin!” Lyra slammed her hand on the table. “Don’t say I didn’t warn you. With all her power and resources, Ms. Nicholson can divorce you easily. It’s only because she appreciates her past relationship with you that she’s allowing you to keep your dignity intact. Don’t provoke her!” “My dignity?” Dustin was a little amused by that. She didn’t even want to speak to him directly to divorce him. What kind of dignity was that? Moreover, if she really did appreciate their relationship, then why was she threatening him now?
