An Understated Dominance Chapter 1993 by Marina Vittori

The black serpent spewed forth a torrent of dark flames, resembling a black dragon that swiftly engulfed Dustin. Instantly, the nearby riverbed dried up, leaving behind a charred and desolate path.

His fate seemed grim, and everyone shook their heads, convinced of his impending doom. The deadly flames of the black serpent were evident to all.

Even those at the divine level martial artists would turn to ashes instantly.

Despite this, Dustin faced the flames head-on without flinching. They wondered if he was knowingly walking into his demise.

Garrett sneered and thought, “This kid talks big but can’t back it up. Completely clueless.” He knew Dustin would end up burned to ashes.

“It’s over. Dustin is gone.” Jackson sighed, unable to bring himself to witness the scene anymore.

He admitted that Dustin’s strength was impressive, surpassing even Yonah. The issue, though, was that the black serpent possessed strength comparable to that of a grandmaster martial artist.

Jackson had witnessed Aidan suffer severe injuries from just one blow. Therefore, Jackson concluded that Dustin’s fate looked grim.

Yonah sneered as he watched the figure in the flames. “Hmph! Let’s see how you’re going to survive this.”

His defeat at the hands of Dustin marked the most significant shame in his life. Despite harboring a desire for revenge, Yonah found himself thwarted by Dustin’s formidable strength and a host of allies.

Surprisingly, Yonah no longer had to seek vengeance, as Dustin voluntarily walked into his demise.

“Ha! Finally getting a taste of your own medicine?” Bran chuckled, reveling in Dustin’s misfortune.

He had been nursing a grudge against Dustin for a while, and seeing him burned alive brought Bran great satisfaction.

“This kid… is surprisingly bold for a newbie,” Aidan remarked as he staggered to his feet.

He felt a sense of relief, knowing that Dustin had managed to redirect the black serpent’s attention. Otherwise, Aidan might have ended up engulfed in flames.

The black serpent spewed flames for a few seconds, but when the dust settled, a surprising sight awaited.

Dustin, who had been engulfed in flames, emerged unscathed. His clothes were intact, and he appeared completely unharmed.

“W-What? What’s happening? The bastard isn’t dead?”

“He’s alive, and his clothes are still intact. It’s unbelievable!”

“Am I imagining this? How the heck did he pull that off?”

When Dustin emerged unharmed, everyone was astonished.

It seemed almost unbelievable that he had faced flames capable of melting steel, something even the grandmaster martial artists might struggle with.

It seemed almost unbelievable that Dustin had emerged from the ordeal without a scratch. This led everyone to ponder whether Dustin possessed some sort of miraculous technique.

At that moment, everyone, including the fire-spewing black serpent, was shocked. The black serpent was surprised to see Dustin standing strong against its flames, a sight it hadn’t anticipated.

It started contemplating the idea that if the initial flame didn’t finish him off, it was now considering launching another attack.

The black serpent’s belly expanded, and it spewed a burst of potent black flames that quickly spread like a wave over a 30-foot area.

The blazing black fire immediately consumed Dustin. The flames then shot up into the sky, casting a mysterious glow around.

“Shouldn’t he be toast by now?”

The crowd stared with anticipation.

The flames spewed by the black serpent covered a wide area that soared three yards high. They quickly felt the inevitability of the situation, realizing no one could escape the inferno.

At that moment, everyone perked up at the distant footsteps. To their amazement, Dustin walked out of the flames unscathed. He appeared calm and composed, strolling as if he were on a leisurely walk.

This unexpected tranquility contradicted the idea of facing a formidable creature.

“Impossible! Is he immune to fire?”

The crowd was surprised by yet another unexpected sight. At first, they believed Dustin had survived solely by luck, but now it was evident that he wasn’t afraid of the flames.

Everyone wondered how did he pull that off. Was there some sort of magical protection involved?

“Is fire your only trick? It won’t do much if it can’t hurt me. Not a single hair on my head has felt the heat so far, “Dustin remarked casually, advancing without a hint of concern.

The black serpent seemed utterly harmless in his eyes.

The black serpent roared angrily. Instead of spitting fire this time, it swung its long tail fiercely at him.

The incredible speed of the black serpent, coupled with the immense force in its long tail, swept through everything in its path.

Dustin snorted, and his expression hardened. In a swift move, he jumped into the air, skillfully dodging the serpent’s sweeping tail.

At the same time, he thrust his sword downward with precision, piercing through the black serpent’s tail and firmly planting the blade tip into the ground.

His immense strength held the black serpent’s tail firmly to the ground, rendering it immobile. As the blade cut through its flesh, blood gushed out.

In agony, the serpent roared, and its body trembled. It was surprised to find that Dustin had effortlessly thwarted its previously powerful tail strike.

As everyone watched in disbelief, their jaws dropped at the scene unfolding before them. However, before anyone could react, the black serpent, writhing in pain, launched another attack.

The black serpent, furious and with its hood flared menacingly, swiftly recoiled its massive body, resembling a taut bowstring. Suddenly, its upper half shot out like an arrow, imitating the release of a bowstring.

With its blood-filled mouth wide open, the black serpent lunged downward, clearly aiming to devour Dustin. It was determined to swallow him whole.

Dustin’s gaze hardened as he unsheathed his Celestial Blade.

With a swift swing, a dark sword aura shot out, effortlessly piercing the black serpent’s vital point. The aura vanished into the sky at astonishing speed.

As the sword aura faded, the colossal black serpent’s body suddenly stopped, frozen in time.

After a brief moment, a gentle breeze swept through, causing the serpent’s head to fall to the ground with a violent spray of blood.

Summary An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori

Dahlia Nicholson and Dustin Rhys had been married for three years. After Dahlia’s meteoric rise to success, she abandons the useless dead weight that’s Dustin, proposing divorce. Unbeknownst to her, everything she had ever achieved was only because of him.

Chapter 1 “Dustin, here is the divorce agreement prepared by Ms. Nicholson. All you need to do is sign them.” In the president’s office of the Quine Group, the secretary, Lyra Blaine, placed a piece of A4 paper on the table. A man sat opposite her, dressed in plain clothing. “Divorce? What do you mean?” Dustin Rhys was taken aback. “Do you not understand what I’m saying? Your marriage with Ms. Nicholson is over. You’re not even on the same level anymore. Your existence is nothing but a smear on the president’s reputation!” Lyra pulled no punches as she spoke. “A smear on her reputation?” Dustin frowned. “Is that how she thinks of me?” Back when they first got married, the Nicholson family was in ruinous debt. He was the one who helped them when they were at their lowest point. Now that they were rich, Dahlia Nicholson was ready to just kick him out. “Something like that.” Lyra jerked her chin toward the magazine on the table. A photo of a beautiful woman was printed on the front page. “Look at the headline on this magazine, Dustin. Ms. Nicholson’s net worth has hit one billion in the course of just three years, a feat no short of a miracle. She’s now the most desired woman in Swinton! With all this, she’s destined for greatness. But you, you’re just a regular joe. You don’t deserve her at all. I hope that you’ll see some sense and do the right thing.” When Dustin remained silent, Lyra frowned. “I know you’re not happy with this, but this is reality,” she continued. “You might have helped Ms. Nicholson when she was in trouble, but she has repaid you for everything you’ve done for her over the last three years. In fact, you’re the one who owes her now!” “Is our marriage just a business deal to her, then?” Dustin took a deep breath to suppress the emotions within. “If she wants to divorce me, let her speak to me herself.” “Ms. Nicholson is very busy. She doesn’t need to trouble herself with such trifling matters.” “Trifling matters?” Dustin was stunned. Then he laughed bitterly. “Is that so? Is divorce a trifling matter to her? She can’t even find the time to speak to me. Truly, she’s that unattainable now!” “Dustin, don’t delay this any longer.” Lyra pushed the divorce agreement toward him again. “Just sign here and you’ll get a car and a house as compensation. On top of that, you’ll also get eight million dollars. This is more than what you’ll be able to earn in your lifetime!” “Eight million dollars is a lot, but…I don’t need it. I will sign the divorce papers if she comes personally. Otherwise, I won’t sign anything,” Duston said coldly. “Don’t go too far, Dustin!” Lyra slammed her hand on the table. “Don’t say I didn’t warn you. With all her power and resources, Ms. Nicholson can divorce you easily. It’s only because she appreciates her past relationship with you that she’s allowing you to keep your dignity intact. Don’t provoke her!” “My dignity?” Dustin was a little amused by that. She didn’t even want to speak to him directly to divorce him. What kind of dignity was that? Moreover, if she really did appreciate their relationship, then why was she threatening him now?
