An Understated Dominance Chapter 1948 by Marina Vittori

“How … How could this happen?” Seeing the black mist in Dustin’s hands, everyone was stunned.

The eclipse spiritstone was fine just moments ago. Yet, its spiritual energy had been devoured in just a second!

Everyone was stunned that a dark energy that was thinner than a hair could be so powerful.

“I didn’t expect this thing to be so terrifying. How eye-opening!” Jackson gulped, feeling a bit scared.

Thankfully, Dustin had warned them in time. Otherwise, there would be trouble if he absorbed the spiritual energy along with the dark energy in the eclipse spiritstone.

Once the dark energy exploded, Jackson would probably have the same fate as Ryan.

“It’s just as I thought. This thing is quite ferocious.”

As Dustin exerted more and more force, the dark energy surrounded by the energy barrier became ferocious.

It surged and thrashed wildly, relentlessly slamming into the energy barrier to try and break free.

They could faintly hear roars that resembled a beast’s growls.

It was obvious that the dark energy had its own life.

“What a pity that a precious crystal like this got tainted by dark energy. What a waste!” Jackson sighed and threw the eclipse spiritstone to the floor.

Then, he crushed them with his foot to prevent the dark energy from harming anyone else.

“There must be a catch when something goes wrong. Ryan’s fate should be linked to the oasis. We need to be careful later on.” While saying that, Dustin suddenly clenched his hand.

The dark energy in his hand instantly exploded and disappeared. After Dustin got rid of the eclipse spiritstone in his hand, everyone turned to look at Aidan.

Aidan was the first to seize the eclipse spiritstone just now. He has accumulated almost 40 of them, each the size of an egg and good quality.

The value of all of them combined was shocking.

“Why are you guys looking at me?”

Aidan furrowed his eyebrows.

“Mr. Ridge, the eclipse spiritstone has dark energy hidden inside it. We can’t use it. You should just destroy it,” Jackson urged.

“You want me to get rid of it? Are you crazy? Do you know how much they are worth?” Aidan was displeased.

Aidan had worked hard to obtain the precious crystals, even disregarding his image and pride. Thus, there was no way he could get rid of them.

“Mr. Ridge, we’re doing it for your own good. If you use the eclipse spiritstone, you might become like Ryan. You’ll go berserk, self-explode, and die!” Jackson advised.

“That’s right. Although eclipse spiritstone has a lot of benefits, your life is more important. You shouldn’t risk your life for this,” a few Emberson Steel’s disciples urged.

Now that everyone was on the same boat, they hoped Aidan would be safe and sound. After all, they counted on Aidan to protect them.

Seeing Aidan remaining silent, Jackson asked curiously, “Mr. Ridge, are you planning to sell the eclipse spiritstone to others?

“You’re someone highly respected by others. I don’t think you’ll do something to harm others, right?”

“N-No way! I’m not such a person!” Aidan immediately denied. Although he declared it so loudly, he felt a bit guilty. He did indeed think of selling it to others if he couldn’t use it.

Since most people couldn’t tell what was wrong with it, Aidan could earn buckets by ordering someone to sell it below market price.

As for the dangers the buyers would encounter, Aidan would have nothing to do with it. Of course, he couldn’t let others know about such shady dealings.

“You’re such a righteous and upright person. I doubt you’ll do something as selfish as that. Based on your personality, I believe that you’ll definitely get rid of such an evil item!” Jackson buttered him up.

With such lofty praise, Jackson placed Aidan in a difficult position.

“Mr. Ridge, this eclipse spritstone is nothing much. I believe we can find way better items in the oasis. Although you’ll lose the crystal, more things are waiting for us.” Grace tried to smooth things over.

Naturally, she could tell Aidan was unwilling to get rid of the crystal. Thus, she could only persuade him by using something even better.

Otherwise, a lot of people would be harmed if the eclipse spiritstone were sold in the market.

“Alright. It’s just a few eclipse spiritstones and nothing much. I can just get rid of it. It’s not like I’ve never seen things better than this.” Aidan finally relented after being praised and urged.

Aidan got rid of all the eclipse spiritstones that he collected.

“How righteous! I respect you, Mr. Ridge.” Jackson immediately clasped his hands together to show his admiration.

“Okay. Stop buttering me up. The eclipse spiritstones we have were only a small portion of what was picked up. There are still hundreds of them being divided among several forces outside.

“However, it’s quite impossible to ask them to destroy their eclipse spiritstones,” Aidan said in a deep voice.

“I’ll notify all the forces about how dangerous it is. We should try our best to save as many people as possible,” Jackson replied.

“Do you think that will work?” Aidan snorted. Greed was a part of human nature. There was no way one would easily destroy a hard-earned treasure just based on a stranger’s words.

If Aidan didn’t see it for himself, he wouldn’t believe there was dark energy in the eclipse spiritstone either.

“I can only do what I can and leave the rest for them to decide. That way, I can at least live without remorse.” Jackson sighed.

Naturally, Jackson knew that it wouldn’t be easy to convince them. However, he can’t bear to sit back and do nothing.

“Jackson spread the news that I’m willing to purchase eclipse spritstones for a high price. Anyone who has it can sell it to me. It’ll be more believable this way,” Grace suddenly said.

Jackson was stunned. Then, he asked in shock, “Ms. Linsor, you’re not kidding, right? It’ll be a lot of money to buy all the eclipse spiritstones. Are you sure you want to buy all of them?”

“I lack everything but money. Plus, I’m just doing good deeds by saving people. “Grace smiled faintly.

“Ms. Linsor, you’re such a righteous person. I respect you.” Jackson clasped his hands with a serious expression.

At this moment, he deeply respected the woman before him.

Grace was willing to fork out a large amount of money for several strangers. Jackson truly admired such a noble action, feeling that he fell short in comparison.

Summary An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori

Dahlia Nicholson and Dustin Rhys had been married for three years. After Dahlia’s meteoric rise to success, she abandons the useless dead weight that’s Dustin, proposing divorce. Unbeknownst to her, everything she had ever achieved was only because of him.

Chapter 1 “Dustin, here is the divorce agreement prepared by Ms. Nicholson. All you need to do is sign them.” In the president’s office of the Quine Group, the secretary, Lyra Blaine, placed a piece of A4 paper on the table. A man sat opposite her, dressed in plain clothing. “Divorce? What do you mean?” Dustin Rhys was taken aback. “Do you not understand what I’m saying? Your marriage with Ms. Nicholson is over. You’re not even on the same level anymore. Your existence is nothing but a smear on the president’s reputation!” Lyra pulled no punches as she spoke. “A smear on her reputation?” Dustin frowned. “Is that how she thinks of me?” Back when they first got married, the Nicholson family was in ruinous debt. He was the one who helped them when they were at their lowest point. Now that they were rich, Dahlia Nicholson was ready to just kick him out. “Something like that.” Lyra jerked her chin toward the magazine on the table. A photo of a beautiful woman was printed on the front page. “Look at the headline on this magazine, Dustin. Ms. Nicholson’s net worth has hit one billion in the course of just three years, a feat no short of a miracle. She’s now the most desired woman in Swinton! With all this, she’s destined for greatness. But you, you’re just a regular joe. You don’t deserve her at all. I hope that you’ll see some sense and do the right thing.” When Dustin remained silent, Lyra frowned. “I know you’re not happy with this, but this is reality,” she continued. “You might have helped Ms. Nicholson when she was in trouble, but she has repaid you for everything you’ve done for her over the last three years. In fact, you’re the one who owes her now!” “Is our marriage just a business deal to her, then?” Dustin took a deep breath to suppress the emotions within. “If she wants to divorce me, let her speak to me herself.” “Ms. Nicholson is very busy. She doesn’t need to trouble herself with such trifling matters.” “Trifling matters?” Dustin was stunned. Then he laughed bitterly. “Is that so? Is divorce a trifling matter to her? She can’t even find the time to speak to me. Truly, she’s that unattainable now!” “Dustin, don’t delay this any longer.” Lyra pushed the divorce agreement toward him again. “Just sign here and you’ll get a car and a house as compensation. On top of that, you’ll also get eight million dollars. This is more than what you’ll be able to earn in your lifetime!” “Eight million dollars is a lot, but…I don’t need it. I will sign the divorce papers if she comes personally. Otherwise, I won’t sign anything,” Duston said coldly. “Don’t go too far, Dustin!” Lyra slammed her hand on the table. “Don’t say I didn’t warn you. With all her power and resources, Ms. Nicholson can divorce you easily. It’s only because she appreciates her past relationship with you that she’s allowing you to keep your dignity intact. Don’t provoke her!” “My dignity?” Dustin was a little amused by that. She didn’t even want to speak to him directly to divorce him. What kind of dignity was that? Moreover, if she really did appreciate their relationship, then why was she threatening him now?
