An Understated Dominance Chapter 1878 by Marina Vittori

Dustin left the Dragon Guard base immediately after talking to Julius for a while. It wasn’t a place that he should stick around.

He only took the risk to verify some information. It was a good thing that he entered and left quietly.

However, after Dustin had left for a while, Julius picked up the phone on the table and called the control room. Five minutes later, Reagan walked into the villa with a few of his trusted subordinates.

“Grand General Rhys, I heard that you wanted to see me urgently,” Reagan spoke first.

“Sir Judd, someone from the West Lucozian monarchy just snuck into your secret base,” Julius said frankly.

“Oh, is that so?” Reagan was a little surprised as he looked around and said, “Grand General Rhys, are you sure?”

“Of course, he was just standing in front of me.” Julius looked serious.

“Who is it then? Why did this person come to see you?” Reagan pursued the matter further.

“That person was the Crown Prince of West Lucozia, Dustin Rhys!” Julius answered honestly and continued, “He snuck in to rope me in his plan to annihilate you.”

“Dustin Rhys?” Reagan nodded. “If it were him, it’d be only normal if no one realized that he was here.”

As the tenth-best fighter on the Astonishing World List, it’d be hard for others to detect him if he didn’t want people to notice him. Even for Reagan, Dustin would have to be within a hundred yards radius of him for Reagan to detect his presence.

“Sir Judd, Dustin doesn’t know that I have joined forces with the Dragon Guard. As such, he was discussing his plans with me.”

Julius flashed a creepy smile and said, ” I lied to him. I told him that you were leaving the base tomorrow and would be going to West Lucozia.

“I asked him to form a team so he could ambush you halfway. Who knew he actually believed what I said! He said that we’d be working together to attack and kill you.”

“Looks like I’ve become the thorn in the flesh for the West Lucozian monarchy. They can’t wait to get rid of me.” Reagan burst out laughing.

“Sir Judd, why don’t we use this opportunity to kill Dustin Rhys? We can definitely use his plan against him,” Julius said creepily.

“Now that Rufus Rhys already has one foot in the grave, he doesn’t have much time left. Dustin Rhys will be the heir to the throne of West Lucozia.

“If we kill Dustin, there’d be no heir left. When that time comes, it’d be much easier for us to take over West Lucozia!”

“That’s right!” Reagan’s eyes lit up. ” Dustin Rhys was born with special abilities, and his potential is endless. He’s a serious threat to our future. If we can eliminate him, it’d solve a huge worry for us!”

“My thoughts exactly!” Julius smiled.

“Grand General Rhys, very good. You have made a great contribution this time.” Reagan nodded with a smile.

“To be honest, I actually doubted your loyalty before this. You have just proven your immense loyalty to me.

“As such, I’ve decided to officially appoint you to be the elder of the Dragon Guard. From now on, you’ll enjoy only the best benefits of the Dragon Guard!”

“Thank you, Sir Judd!” Julius was overjoyed.

“Grand General Rhys, you’ll have full command of the operation tomorrow. You can use anyone in the Dragon Guard.

“I only ask of you is that you must kill Dustin Rhys at all cost!” A killer intent flashed across Reagan’s eyes.

“Don’t worry, Sir Judd! I’ll make sure that we accomplish our mission!” Julius spoke with confidence.

“Good! I want Rufus Rhys to be heirless by tomorrow!” Reagan laughed loudly.

In Oakvale, he had sent Cinna Shaffer to kill Dustin. He had no idea that someone else would save Dustin. Now that he was given this opportunity, he’d do anything to make sure that Dustin had no escape.

The next morning, Dustin, Austin and a team of good fighters hid themselves on both sides of a deserted route at the edge of the Bronx Mountain Range.

It was a narrow and dangerous place.

Mountain peaks flanked two sides of the road. In the middle of the mountain range was an unpaved dirt road. Rocks piled up on both sides of the unpaved dirt road. It was the best place for an ambush.

“Dustin, can we really trust Uncle Julius? Will Reagan Judd really come this way?” Austin looked around suspiciously. This dirt road was overgrown with wild plants, and it was obvious that not many had passed here.

“I have put a curse on Julius Rhys. If he wants to live, he won’t betray us. If not, he’ll die before us.” Dustin replied.

“I still find him quite unreliable.” Austin remained doubtful.

“Don’t worry. I have already sent out informers around this area. We’d be the first to know if there’s any movement.” Dustin comforted him.

“That’s good.” Austin nodded.

“Oh, and the thing I asked you to do… How is it?” Dustin asked suddenly.

“I’ve already sent out the letter. The person you invited is on their way here. “Austin replied.

“This person is part of my later plans.

If our ambush is successful today, we can ride on its wave and annihilate the Dragon Guard all at once!” Dustin said with narrowed eyes.

“Fuck! We can finally get our revenge after such a long time!” Austin licked his lips, and a killer glint flashed across his eyes. The Dragon Guard had long been the West Lucozian monarchy’s thorn in the flesh.

It didn’t matter if it was the revolution in Aylka a decade ago or the assassination attempt on his father a few days ago; the Dragon Guard was behind everything.

Now that they finally had a chance to destroy the Dragon Guard, he was ready for action.

It must be made known that they had gathered almost all of the good fighters from the castle. They even took a few of the elite fighters from the Black Dragon Army to form a team. As long as Reagan was surrounded, he’d never be able to escape.

“Your Highness, the informer had just informed us that someone is coming in from the east three miles away.”

When everyone was waiting in silence, one of his trusted subordinates suddenly rushed next to Dustin and spoke to him in a low voice.

“Inform everyone to keep their cover and don’t make any sudden movement, “Dustin replied quietly as well.

“Yes, understood!” The subordinate answered and informed everyone on the team of Dustin’s orders immediately.

Every member of the ambush team hid themselves, and some even held their breaths. After a long while, a procession of horses was visible at the entrance to the dirt road. It was a group from the Dragon Guard!

Summary An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori

Dahlia Nicholson and Dustin Rhys had been married for three years. After Dahlia’s meteoric rise to success, she abandons the useless dead weight that’s Dustin, proposing divorce. Unbeknownst to her, everything she had ever achieved was only because of him.

Chapter 1 “Dustin, here is the divorce agreement prepared by Ms. Nicholson. All you need to do is sign them.” In the president’s office of the Quine Group, the secretary, Lyra Blaine, placed a piece of A4 paper on the table. A man sat opposite her, dressed in plain clothing. “Divorce? What do you mean?” Dustin Rhys was taken aback. “Do you not understand what I’m saying? Your marriage with Ms. Nicholson is over. You’re not even on the same level anymore. Your existence is nothing but a smear on the president’s reputation!” Lyra pulled no punches as she spoke. “A smear on her reputation?” Dustin frowned. “Is that how she thinks of me?” Back when they first got married, the Nicholson family was in ruinous debt. He was the one who helped them when they were at their lowest point. Now that they were rich, Dahlia Nicholson was ready to just kick him out. “Something like that.” Lyra jerked her chin toward the magazine on the table. A photo of a beautiful woman was printed on the front page. “Look at the headline on this magazine, Dustin. Ms. Nicholson’s net worth has hit one billion in the course of just three years, a feat no short of a miracle. She’s now the most desired woman in Swinton! With all this, she’s destined for greatness. But you, you’re just a regular joe. You don’t deserve her at all. I hope that you’ll see some sense and do the right thing.” When Dustin remained silent, Lyra frowned. “I know you’re not happy with this, but this is reality,” she continued. “You might have helped Ms. Nicholson when she was in trouble, but she has repaid you for everything you’ve done for her over the last three years. In fact, you’re the one who owes her now!” “Is our marriage just a business deal to her, then?” Dustin took a deep breath to suppress the emotions within. “If she wants to divorce me, let her speak to me herself.” “Ms. Nicholson is very busy. She doesn’t need to trouble herself with such trifling matters.” “Trifling matters?” Dustin was stunned. Then he laughed bitterly. “Is that so? Is divorce a trifling matter to her? She can’t even find the time to speak to me. Truly, she’s that unattainable now!” “Dustin, don’t delay this any longer.” Lyra pushed the divorce agreement toward him again. “Just sign here and you’ll get a car and a house as compensation. On top of that, you’ll also get eight million dollars. This is more than what you’ll be able to earn in your lifetime!” “Eight million dollars is a lot, but…I don’t need it. I will sign the divorce papers if she comes personally. Otherwise, I won’t sign anything,” Duston said coldly. “Don’t go too far, Dustin!” Lyra slammed her hand on the table. “Don’t say I didn’t warn you. With all her power and resources, Ms. Nicholson can divorce you easily. It’s only because she appreciates her past relationship with you that she’s allowing you to keep your dignity intact. Don’t provoke her!” “My dignity?” Dustin was a little amused by that. She didn’t even want to speak to him directly to divorce him. What kind of dignity was that? Moreover, if she really did appreciate their relationship, then why was she threatening him now?
