An Understated Dominance Chapter 1812 by Marina Vittori

It was late at night, and a large number of armed soldiers formed a human wall outside the castle, surrounding it.

A dense crowd stood outside the castle, easily numbering tens of thousands! These were only the vanguard forces. There was still a team of armed military forces outside of the castle.

They were the soldiers of the Northern Four Sovereigns. Among them were also Julius’ guards.

However, they had disguised themselves to blend in.

Meanwhile, Eloise was wearing mourning clothes and a hat inside the castle. She had an indifferent expression as she stood outside the gate.

She was also holding a sharp sword. This caused her to look formidable and full of killing intent.

As the princess consort, she stepped forward unhesitatingly at the most critical moment. She stood alone at the forefront.

Jaxon stood behind her, along with Draken Guardians dressed in combat gear.

Although there were not many of them, they were the most powerful force in the monarchy.

Behind the Draken Guardians were a bunch of guards and servants.

The guards were armed with knives, while the servants had sticks. All of them were prepared for what was going to happen, ready to face death.

Further back in the inner courtyard, a group of elderly, weak women and children wore mourning hats and wielded knives. Their eyes were fixed firmly on the gate.

Once the Draken Guardians were wiped out and most of the servants and guards were killed, they would lunge forward unhesitatingly. All of them swore to live and die with the monarchy.

“Dad… Mom… I’m scared.” A young child of about ten years old wielded a knife in the crowd. He was shivering with fear, and his face was pale.

He had been pampered for his entire life. Thus, he had never experienced something like this before.

After knowing that thousands of soldiers surrounded the castle, he finally understood that the monarchy was going to fall. He would most likely lose his life tonight.

“You loser!” A middle-aged man glared at him and shouted, “All men of the Rhys family have traversed battlefields and been buried in them. If you dare to back away, I’ll kill you first!”

“Dad?” The child shivered, tears forming in his eyes.

“Stop crying! Men don’t cry when they bleed. You just got a scar the size of a bowl on your head. Wipe your tears!” the middle-aged man shouted.

The child didn’t dare to talk, immediately wiping his tears.

The woman beside him turned to look at him. She squeezed out a smile. ” Maverick, there’s nothing to be afraid of. Dad and Mom will be by your side no matter what happens.”

“Maverick, the more scared we are, the more we need to be strong. We can’t let people look down on us!” At this moment, a 14 or 15-year-old teenage girl spoke determinedly.

“Okay!” The child gritted his teeth and nodded.

“Tiana…” The woman took out a bottle of medicine and placed it in the teenager’s hand.

She urged, “Take care of your younger brother. In case we can’t hold on, consume the medicine. It can spare you from some torment.”

“I understand!” Tiana nodded while clutching the medicine in her hand.

She knew well that it was a bottle of poison.

If the castle’s soldiers couldn’t withstand the invasion, she could only drink the poison.

Otherwise, her fate might be even more terrifying than death.

A solemn atmosphere enveloped the entire castle.

Everyone knew that a huge disaster was about to befall the monarchy. However, nobody ran away despite feeling afraid and knowing they were about to die.

At this moment, the soldiers outside the castle started to bang on the doors.

Summary An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori

Dahlia Nicholson and Dustin Rhys had been married for three years. After Dahlia’s meteoric rise to success, she abandons the useless dead weight that’s Dustin, proposing divorce. Unbeknownst to her, everything she had ever achieved was only because of him.

Chapter 1 “Dustin, here is the divorce agreement prepared by Ms. Nicholson. All you need to do is sign them.” In the president’s office of the Quine Group, the secretary, Lyra Blaine, placed a piece of A4 paper on the table. A man sat opposite her, dressed in plain clothing. “Divorce? What do you mean?” Dustin Rhys was taken aback. “Do you not understand what I’m saying? Your marriage with Ms. Nicholson is over. You’re not even on the same level anymore. Your existence is nothing but a smear on the president’s reputation!” Lyra pulled no punches as she spoke. “A smear on her reputation?” Dustin frowned. “Is that how she thinks of me?” Back when they first got married, the Nicholson family was in ruinous debt. He was the one who helped them when they were at their lowest point. Now that they were rich, Dahlia Nicholson was ready to just kick him out. “Something like that.” Lyra jerked her chin toward the magazine on the table. A photo of a beautiful woman was printed on the front page. “Look at the headline on this magazine, Dustin. Ms. Nicholson’s net worth has hit one billion in the course of just three years, a feat no short of a miracle. She’s now the most desired woman in Swinton! With all this, she’s destined for greatness. But you, you’re just a regular joe. You don’t deserve her at all. I hope that you’ll see some sense and do the right thing.” When Dustin remained silent, Lyra frowned. “I know you’re not happy with this, but this is reality,” she continued. “You might have helped Ms. Nicholson when she was in trouble, but she has repaid you for everything you’ve done for her over the last three years. In fact, you’re the one who owes her now!” “Is our marriage just a business deal to her, then?” Dustin took a deep breath to suppress the emotions within. “If she wants to divorce me, let her speak to me herself.” “Ms. Nicholson is very busy. She doesn’t need to trouble herself with such trifling matters.” “Trifling matters?” Dustin was stunned. Then he laughed bitterly. “Is that so? Is divorce a trifling matter to her? She can’t even find the time to speak to me. Truly, she’s that unattainable now!” “Dustin, don’t delay this any longer.” Lyra pushed the divorce agreement toward him again. “Just sign here and you’ll get a car and a house as compensation. On top of that, you’ll also get eight million dollars. This is more than what you’ll be able to earn in your lifetime!” “Eight million dollars is a lot, but…I don’t need it. I will sign the divorce papers if she comes personally. Otherwise, I won’t sign anything,” Duston said coldly. “Don’t go too far, Dustin!” Lyra slammed her hand on the table. “Don’t say I didn’t warn you. With all her power and resources, Ms. Nicholson can divorce you easily. It’s only because she appreciates her past relationship with you that she’s allowing you to keep your dignity intact. Don’t provoke her!” “My dignity?” Dustin was a little amused by that. She didn’t even want to speak to him directly to divorce him. What kind of dignity was that? Moreover, if she really did appreciate their relationship, then why was she threatening him now?
