An Understated Dominance Chapter 1731 by Marina Vittori

After a hearty meal, Dustin took his leave. There was a pile of things he had to attend to after sleeping for two days and one night. Thus, he had to head back quickly to make arrangements.

Before he got into the car, Grace suddenly called out to him. She warned, “Logan, the cards told me last night that you’re not entirely out of danger now. You have to be careful.”

“Rest assured, I know what I’m doing. I’ll get going now,” Dustin replied as he nodded.

His car took off in a haste.

In the car, he called Natasha to assure her of his safety. Then, he proceeded to brief Adam and Scarlet about what had happened.

He told them to prepare the Spanner family for the fight over the throne. Once the fight began, the entire

government would be involved. As one of the ancient houses, it was simply impossible for the Spanner family to stay out of this. After an hour, Dustin was back at the mansion.

Caitlyn was cooking while Cinna and Brooke were doing ink painting.

With his eyes closed, Maximus was meditating.

“Who is it?”

Once Dustin opened the door, Maximus was the first to react. His eyes opened instantly, and he pointed his sword swiftly toward the door.

“It’s me,” Dustin replied, revealing his identity.

“Dustin? You’re finally back!”

Maximus’ eyes lit up as he asked, ”

Where have you been for the past two days? There hasn’t been any news from you!”

“I’ve got something urgent to tend to. That’s why I was two days late,” Dustin answered as he flashed a smile. He couldn’t have said he had been sleeping for two days straight.

“Dustin, I’ve delivered the letter you gave me to West Lucozia.”

“Sure. No need to worry about it.” Dustin was unbothered. Instead, he asked, “Oh yeah, how’s Mr. Shaffer and Dr. Busch?”

“They’re fine. I’ve been extra vigilant for the past two days because I was worried something might happen. Fortunately, everything went well,” Maximus replied.

“Great. Thank you so much,” Dustin remarked while nodding.

“Is Logan back?”

Just then, Cinna and Brooke emerged from the study. They had been home, so they were clueless about what had been going on lately. Thus, they didn’t look too concerned.

“Mr. Shaffer, you look so much better now. You’re healing incredibly quick.”

After careful observation, Dustin realized Cinna’s face was dusted with a healthy shade of pink. His breathing was steady, and he was not any different than a normal person.

“It was all thanks to your medicine. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have recovered quickly.” Cinna chuckled.

He added, “Right, you weren’t here yesterday. The West Lucozian monarchy sent a messenger over to ask about you. Do you want to meet him personally?”

“A messenger from the monarchy? Who is it?” Dustin raised his eyebrows.

“No idea. I haven’t gone back in the last decade, and I bet there weren’t many of my old subordinates left. There must be a lot of fresh faces by now,” Cinna replied.

“Since he came for me, I’ll have to meet him then. Where is this messenger now?”

It seemed like his letter asking for help garnered attention from the monarchy. Thus, a messenger was sent to check up on him.

He found this opportunity to be a blessing as well since he intended to ask about the monarchy.

“I have no idea about his whereabouts. But he gave us his contact before he left. I’ll go ask him now,” Cinna said as he ran back to the room.

Once he got the number, he immediately called and asked.

After a while, he reappeared and said, ” Logan, the messenger said he’ll be waiting for us at the Regal Court by 8: 00 pm tonight.”

“Sure, we’ll head over tonight,” Dustin answered with a nod.

He was very familiar with the place since he had visited it multiple times lately. 1

Time flew. Soon, it was getting dark.

Dustin left at 7:00 pm. Along with Maximus and Cinna, they arrived at the Regal Court within half an hour.

Summary An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori

Dahlia Nicholson and Dustin Rhys had been married for three years. After Dahlia’s meteoric rise to success, she abandons the useless dead weight that’s Dustin, proposing divorce. Unbeknownst to her, everything she had ever achieved was only because of him.

Chapter 1 “Dustin, here is the divorce agreement prepared by Ms. Nicholson. All you need to do is sign them.” In the president’s office of the Quine Group, the secretary, Lyra Blaine, placed a piece of A4 paper on the table. A man sat opposite her, dressed in plain clothing. “Divorce? What do you mean?” Dustin Rhys was taken aback. “Do you not understand what I’m saying? Your marriage with Ms. Nicholson is over. You’re not even on the same level anymore. Your existence is nothing but a smear on the president’s reputation!” Lyra pulled no punches as she spoke. “A smear on her reputation?” Dustin frowned. “Is that how she thinks of me?” Back when they first got married, the Nicholson family was in ruinous debt. He was the one who helped them when they were at their lowest point. Now that they were rich, Dahlia Nicholson was ready to just kick him out. “Something like that.” Lyra jerked her chin toward the magazine on the table. A photo of a beautiful woman was printed on the front page. “Look at the headline on this magazine, Dustin. Ms. Nicholson’s net worth has hit one billion in the course of just three years, a feat no short of a miracle. She’s now the most desired woman in Swinton! With all this, she’s destined for greatness. But you, you’re just a regular joe. You don’t deserve her at all. I hope that you’ll see some sense and do the right thing.” When Dustin remained silent, Lyra frowned. “I know you’re not happy with this, but this is reality,” she continued. “You might have helped Ms. Nicholson when she was in trouble, but she has repaid you for everything you’ve done for her over the last three years. In fact, you’re the one who owes her now!” “Is our marriage just a business deal to her, then?” Dustin took a deep breath to suppress the emotions within. “If she wants to divorce me, let her speak to me herself.” “Ms. Nicholson is very busy. She doesn’t need to trouble herself with such trifling matters.” “Trifling matters?” Dustin was stunned. Then he laughed bitterly. “Is that so? Is divorce a trifling matter to her? She can’t even find the time to speak to me. Truly, she’s that unattainable now!” “Dustin, don’t delay this any longer.” Lyra pushed the divorce agreement toward him again. “Just sign here and you’ll get a car and a house as compensation. On top of that, you’ll also get eight million dollars. This is more than what you’ll be able to earn in your lifetime!” “Eight million dollars is a lot, but…I don’t need it. I will sign the divorce papers if she comes personally. Otherwise, I won’t sign anything,” Duston said coldly. “Don’t go too far, Dustin!” Lyra slammed her hand on the table. “Don’t say I didn’t warn you. With all her power and resources, Ms. Nicholson can divorce you easily. It’s only because she appreciates her past relationship with you that she’s allowing you to keep your dignity intact. Don’t provoke her!” “My dignity?” Dustin was a little amused by that. She didn’t even want to speak to him directly to divorce him. What kind of dignity was that? Moreover, if she really did appreciate their relationship, then why was she threatening him now?
