An Understated Dominance Chapter 1623 by Marina Vittori

The night passed quickly. The next morning, Dustin was ready to leave after washing up and changing into a set of clean clothes.

“Dustin, this trip will be dangerous. Why don’t I go with you? At least we can take care of each other.” Maximus came running after him from his room. There was a sword hanging behind his back as well.

He might not be very skilled, but he was still capable of keeping watch for Dustin.

“It’s alright. You stay at home. Protecting Mr. Shaffer is your top priority.” Dustin patted Maximus’s shoulder. “Remember, if something goes south, leave with Mr. Shaffer. Don’t take any risks.”

“Got it.” Maximus nodded heavily. “I’ll put my life on the line to make sure that Mr. Shaffer is safe!”

“Don’t say that. I’m just going out for a while. It won’t take too long. You guys just need to be careful. I’m leaving now.

With that, Dustin left the house.

The trip to Quandary Mountain would take around two hours as it was located on the city’s outskirts. Due to its sparse population, the area wasn’t well- known. As for the Scenic Monastery in the mountain, the place was unknown to the public.

If it weren’t for the information given to him by the person in the palace, Dustin wouldn’t know that the once powerful and glorious Prince of Carsonne would settle into the quiet monastery life. Still, some things that couldn’t be avoided.

When Dustin was on his way to the Scenic Monastery, an invisible force started circulating around in the center of Oakvale. All those in power were ready to move at a moment’s notice.

At this moment, in Jadeleaf manor, Anders was playing out a military strategy on a miniature sandfield in his study. However, his focus was on something else.

“Sir Anders!” One of his trusted subordinates walked quickly toward him and informed him respectfully, We just received an urgent confidential letter. Please read it now.”

“Really? Show me then.” Anders took the letter, and his eyes lit up when he read the content.

“Dustin Rhys is on his way to the Scenic Monastery in Quandary Mountain. He must be stopped at all costs. If necessary, kill on sight!”

Anders read the letter in a very low voice, and the smile on his face got wider with each passing moment.

“It looks like someone in the palace is getting impatient. They finally know that Dustin Rhys is a huge problem, and they want him dead before he finds out anything,” he said.

“Sir Anders, what should we do?” the subordinate asked.

“We listen to orders, of course.” Anders smiled knowingly. “As an army general, our priority is to obey orders. We’ll do as we’re told. We have someone to back us up if there’s any accident.”

He had been worrying about how to eradicate Dustin Rhys without leaving any trace a few moments ago. Now, things were in his favor. There was no need to worry.

He had received an order from his superiors, and he only needed to follow their orders.

“Why are you still standing there? Go and gather the Fang Legion quickly! We’re going to Quandary Mountain to kill the national thief!” Anders shouted.

“Yes, sir!” The subordinate left quickly when he got the order. Very soon, a team of elite soldiers was assembled and on their way to the mountain.

Meanwhile, at the headquarters of Celestial Alliance, Fenley was sitting cross-legged in deep meditation. He was in a room especially conducive for meditation.

The meditation room in Celestial Alliance had the Spirit Rally Formation to facilitate the meditation process. However, initiating the Spirit Rally Formation required a lot of rare resources. As such, every moment in this formation was very precious.

Normal members wouldn’t have this treatment. Only real big shots could enjoy this benefit of the meditation room.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door.

Summary An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori

Dahlia Nicholson and Dustin Rhys had been married for three years. After Dahlia’s meteoric rise to success, she abandons the useless dead weight that’s Dustin, proposing divorce. Unbeknownst to her, everything she had ever achieved was only because of him.

Chapter 1 “Dustin, here is the divorce agreement prepared by Ms. Nicholson. All you need to do is sign them.” In the president’s office of the Quine Group, the secretary, Lyra Blaine, placed a piece of A4 paper on the table. A man sat opposite her, dressed in plain clothing. “Divorce? What do you mean?” Dustin Rhys was taken aback. “Do you not understand what I’m saying? Your marriage with Ms. Nicholson is over. You’re not even on the same level anymore. Your existence is nothing but a smear on the president’s reputation!” Lyra pulled no punches as she spoke. “A smear on her reputation?” Dustin frowned. “Is that how she thinks of me?” Back when they first got married, the Nicholson family was in ruinous debt. He was the one who helped them when they were at their lowest point. Now that they were rich, Dahlia Nicholson was ready to just kick him out. “Something like that.” Lyra jerked her chin toward the magazine on the table. A photo of a beautiful woman was printed on the front page. “Look at the headline on this magazine, Dustin. Ms. Nicholson’s net worth has hit one billion in the course of just three years, a feat no short of a miracle. She’s now the most desired woman in Swinton! With all this, she’s destined for greatness. But you, you’re just a regular joe. You don’t deserve her at all. I hope that you’ll see some sense and do the right thing.” When Dustin remained silent, Lyra frowned. “I know you’re not happy with this, but this is reality,” she continued. “You might have helped Ms. Nicholson when she was in trouble, but she has repaid you for everything you’ve done for her over the last three years. In fact, you’re the one who owes her now!” “Is our marriage just a business deal to her, then?” Dustin took a deep breath to suppress the emotions within. “If she wants to divorce me, let her speak to me herself.” “Ms. Nicholson is very busy. She doesn’t need to trouble herself with such trifling matters.” “Trifling matters?” Dustin was stunned. Then he laughed bitterly. “Is that so? Is divorce a trifling matter to her? She can’t even find the time to speak to me. Truly, she’s that unattainable now!” “Dustin, don’t delay this any longer.” Lyra pushed the divorce agreement toward him again. “Just sign here and you’ll get a car and a house as compensation. On top of that, you’ll also get eight million dollars. This is more than what you’ll be able to earn in your lifetime!” “Eight million dollars is a lot, but…I don’t need it. I will sign the divorce papers if she comes personally. Otherwise, I won’t sign anything,” Duston said coldly. “Don’t go too far, Dustin!” Lyra slammed her hand on the table. “Don’t say I didn’t warn you. With all her power and resources, Ms. Nicholson can divorce you easily. It’s only because she appreciates her past relationship with you that she’s allowing you to keep your dignity intact. Don’t provoke her!” “My dignity?” Dustin was a little amused by that. She didn’t even want to speak to him directly to divorce him. What kind of dignity was that? Moreover, if she really did appreciate their relationship, then why was she threatening him now?
