An Understated Dominance Chapter 1568 by Marina Vittori

Scott’s eyes twitched as he took a few steps back. Acold sweat dripped down his body, and his hair stood on end. At that moment, he finally realized the severity of the situation. Dustin’s strength far exceeded his expectations.

For Dustin to take down the Undead Hexcasters with a single move showed that he wasn’t just some divine master but a true grandmaster martial artist! Fuck! How could an unknown kid be this powerful?

“Hey, pal, I appreciate your skills. I’m giving you a chance to rise to the top now.”

Anders, who had been watching coldly, suddenly spoke, “As long as you’re willing to join me, I can overlook today’s events.

“Not only that, I’ll get you into the military and give you a high position. From then on, everything will be under your control!”

“What?” Scott’s expression changed instantly upon hearing this. He hastily said, “Sir Anders, this bastard is a ticking time bomb. Keeping him around would be asking for endless trouble!”

After all, Scott and Dustin had a deep- seated grudge. If Dustin got on Anders’ good side, Scott would be dealing with a much stronger opponent. Obviously, he wasn’t too happy about that.

“I know my strength; don’t worry too much,” Anders said indifferently. Dustin’s strength had made Anders look at him with more respect. It would be a valuable asset to gain such a talent.

“But-!” Scott was about to say something when Anders shot him a cold look.

“Do I need to consult you about what I want to do?”

This immediately silenced Scott, who dared not say another word.

“So, what do you think of my proposal?

“Anders looked back at Dustin.

“If you wanna negotiate with me, you would have to take care of him first.” Dustin pointed at Scott. Scott’s eyes widened, feeling uneasy. Surely Anders wouldn’t come after him for the sake of an outsider?

Anders hummed and narrowed his eyes. “This condition is a bit too much. I don’t know what issues you and Scott have, but I’m happy to step in and settle your differences.

“From now on, you two can be like brothers, supporting each other through thick and thin. What do you think?”

“This peacekeeper role isn’t your thing, “Dustin said, shaking his head, his tone still cold.

“Scott took my friend’s life. And today, he will pay for it. Nobody can stop me.”

“What? You won’t even show me respect?” Anders frowned, displeased.

“Since you found Jadeleaf Manor, you should know who I am. I am picky with the people I want and I don’t appreciate being turned down. You better think it over.”

“Rhys! Sir Anders really admires you; it’s a blessing to be acknowledged. You shouldn’t disrespect him!” Scott shouted, trying to stir things up even more.

He didn’t want to see Dustin rising to the top, so he intentionally used his words to stir things up.

Dustin warned, “Anders, I recommend you to stay away from matters that don’t concern you, or you might get yourself in trouble.”

“Trouble?” Anders suddenly laughed, his eyes icy.

“I’ll give you props for being gutsy, but causing a scene in my territory? You aren’t all that!”

“So, you’re defending him?” Dustin asked.

“You bet!” Anders declared loudly. “Just so you know, I’ve got Scott’s back. If you step out of line, you won’t be walking out of here in one piece!”

“You hear that? Lay a finger on me, and you’re done for!” With Anders supporting him, Scott couldn’t help but grow confident and become full of himself.

Anders was the God of War in Dragonmarsh and led an army of three hundred thousand. Even if Dustin were a force to be reckoned with, he couldn’t hold a candle to Anders.

“Weren’t you talking big just a minute ago? Why so quiet now?”

Scott deliberately took a few steps forward, taunting, “Come on! Weren’t you itching to take me down? I’m right here. If you’re feeling brave, give it a shot!”

Dustin stayed silent, face expressionless.

“What’s the matter? You’re too scared to step up? Alright, I’ll come a little closer for you.” Scott took a few more steps forward.

His head was raised high as he sneered at Dustin while beckoning with his finger. “Come on! If you’ve got the guts, come over here! Let’s see if you-!

Before he could finish, Dustin suddenly raised his hand, and a brilliant white light burst forth. Like the scythe of the grim reaper, it sliced through Scott’s neck.

Summary An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori

Dahlia Nicholson and Dustin Rhys had been married for three years. After Dahlia’s meteoric rise to success, she abandons the useless dead weight that’s Dustin, proposing divorce. Unbeknownst to her, everything she had ever achieved was only because of him.

Chapter 1 “Dustin, here is the divorce agreement prepared by Ms. Nicholson. All you need to do is sign them.” In the president’s office of the Quine Group, the secretary, Lyra Blaine, placed a piece of A4 paper on the table. A man sat opposite her, dressed in plain clothing. “Divorce? What do you mean?” Dustin Rhys was taken aback. “Do you not understand what I’m saying? Your marriage with Ms. Nicholson is over. You’re not even on the same level anymore. Your existence is nothing but a smear on the president’s reputation!” Lyra pulled no punches as she spoke. “A smear on her reputation?” Dustin frowned. “Is that how she thinks of me?” Back when they first got married, the Nicholson family was in ruinous debt. He was the one who helped them when they were at their lowest point. Now that they were rich, Dahlia Nicholson was ready to just kick him out. “Something like that.” Lyra jerked her chin toward the magazine on the table. A photo of a beautiful woman was printed on the front page. “Look at the headline on this magazine, Dustin. Ms. Nicholson’s net worth has hit one billion in the course of just three years, a feat no short of a miracle. She’s now the most desired woman in Swinton! With all this, she’s destined for greatness. But you, you’re just a regular joe. You don’t deserve her at all. I hope that you’ll see some sense and do the right thing.” When Dustin remained silent, Lyra frowned. “I know you’re not happy with this, but this is reality,” she continued. “You might have helped Ms. Nicholson when she was in trouble, but she has repaid you for everything you’ve done for her over the last three years. In fact, you’re the one who owes her now!” “Is our marriage just a business deal to her, then?” Dustin took a deep breath to suppress the emotions within. “If she wants to divorce me, let her speak to me herself.” “Ms. Nicholson is very busy. She doesn’t need to trouble herself with such trifling matters.” “Trifling matters?” Dustin was stunned. Then he laughed bitterly. “Is that so? Is divorce a trifling matter to her? She can’t even find the time to speak to me. Truly, she’s that unattainable now!” “Dustin, don’t delay this any longer.” Lyra pushed the divorce agreement toward him again. “Just sign here and you’ll get a car and a house as compensation. On top of that, you’ll also get eight million dollars. This is more than what you’ll be able to earn in your lifetime!” “Eight million dollars is a lot, but…I don’t need it. I will sign the divorce papers if she comes personally. Otherwise, I won’t sign anything,” Duston said coldly. “Don’t go too far, Dustin!” Lyra slammed her hand on the table. “Don’t say I didn’t warn you. With all her power and resources, Ms. Nicholson can divorce you easily. It’s only because she appreciates her past relationship with you that she’s allowing you to keep your dignity intact. Don’t provoke her!” “My dignity?” Dustin was a little amused by that. She didn’t even want to speak to him directly to divorce him. What kind of dignity was that? Moreover, if she really did appreciate their relationship, then why was she threatening him now?
