An Understated Dominance Chapter 1535 by Marina Vittori

Upon returning to the villa, Dustin began to make the necessary preparations. He had finally gathered all three precious herbs needed. The rest of the supplementary herbs were prepared beforehand. Next, it was time for the most crucial step-producing Sanctifix.

“Maximus, I’ll be locked up in there for a day. You need to keep watch vigilantly. No one is to enter and bother me,” Dustin reminded.

“Don’t worry, Dustin. Not even a fly will be able to enter these doors!” Maximus guaranteed with a confident pat on his chest.

Dustin nodded before looking over at Brooke. “Dr. Busch, I’ll leave Mr. Shaffer in your hands then. Nothing must happen to him before I come out of the room.”

“Rest assured. I might not be able to cure Mr. Shaffer, but I’m fully capable of keeping him alive for some time,” Brooke assured.

“Great. I’ll leave things to the both of you then.” Dustin gave them simple instructions and wasted no more time on words before entering the makeshift alchemy room.

He had all the herbs he needed. The furnace, coal, and all other required materials were already prepared.

However, Dustin didn’t rush into things. Instead, he calmed himself down and meditated for a while. It wasn’t until he was fully relaxed and at ease before he began to produce the pill.

Sanctifix was crucial in keeping Cinna alive. As a top-grade pill, producing Sanctifix was no easier than producing Longevitum. But as they were different pills, there was a great difference in the details that went into their production.

Dustin had gone through the procedure in his head many times. Hence, he remembered every step clearly. There should be no mistakes as long as things went smoothly during production.

First, he had to set up the furnace and put the cauldron in place. Then, he would have to go through the process of grinding up the herbs, roasting the sand, and settling the sand. Finally, he had to control the temperature of the furnace, extract the essence of the herbs, and combine them.

Every step was crucial, and there was no room for mistakes. Dustin did every step meticulously, putting all his attention on the task at hand.

As time slowly ticked by, Dustin focused on accurately controlling the furnace’s temperature. The fire blazed and dwindled according to his will.

The herbs in the furnace were repeatedly refined and combined. And just like that, time went by. The herbs went from a solid state to gaseous to liquid and finally solidified again.

After repeating the steps several times, Dustin came to the most crucial part of the entire procedure-solidifying the pill.

He took a deep breath and engaged his mystical pure energy, slowly channeling it into the furnace.

Creating Sanctifix required mystical pure energy to increase the chance of success in its production. It will also ensure that the pill turns out in good form. As the fire in the furnace blazed on, Dustin channeled more and more of his mystical pure energy into it.

Gradually, sweat began forming on his forehead as smoke surrounded him. It went on for about half an hour before Dustin suddenly struck the furnace with his palm. With a loud clang, the lid of the furnace flew off, and a strong, herbal fragrance escaped the furnace.

Dustin focused his gaze on the furnace and found a light blue pill lying at the bottom. There were still wisps of vapor coming off of it.

The pill was translucent and adorned with a ripple-like pattern on the surface. It looked very pretty, and one could even smell a distinct herbal scent coming from it.

“It’s done!” Dustin was overjoyed. He let out a long breath. Cinna was going to be alright now that they had Sanctifix.

Just outside the door, Maximus held onto the hilt of his sword with both hands. He stood vigilant, not letting his guard down for even a fraction of a second.

Brooke, on the other hand, paced back and forth in the living room anxiously.

Dustin had locked himself away in the alchemy room all day and night. Neither of them had heard from him yet. Hence, Brooke was extremely worried.

They had gone to great lengths to gather the three precious herbs. If Dustin failed to produce Sanctifix, Cinna would be a goner. After all, they had no more time to find an alternative method to save him.

This was their only bet.

Summary An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori

Dahlia Nicholson and Dustin Rhys had been married for three years. After Dahlia’s meteoric rise to success, she abandons the useless dead weight that’s Dustin, proposing divorce. Unbeknownst to her, everything she had ever achieved was only because of him.

Chapter 1 “Dustin, here is the divorce agreement prepared by Ms. Nicholson. All you need to do is sign them.” In the president’s office of the Quine Group, the secretary, Lyra Blaine, placed a piece of A4 paper on the table. A man sat opposite her, dressed in plain clothing. “Divorce? What do you mean?” Dustin Rhys was taken aback. “Do you not understand what I’m saying? Your marriage with Ms. Nicholson is over. You’re not even on the same level anymore. Your existence is nothing but a smear on the president’s reputation!” Lyra pulled no punches as she spoke. “A smear on her reputation?” Dustin frowned. “Is that how she thinks of me?” Back when they first got married, the Nicholson family was in ruinous debt. He was the one who helped them when they were at their lowest point. Now that they were rich, Dahlia Nicholson was ready to just kick him out. “Something like that.” Lyra jerked her chin toward the magazine on the table. A photo of a beautiful woman was printed on the front page. “Look at the headline on this magazine, Dustin. Ms. Nicholson’s net worth has hit one billion in the course of just three years, a feat no short of a miracle. She’s now the most desired woman in Swinton! With all this, she’s destined for greatness. But you, you’re just a regular joe. You don’t deserve her at all. I hope that you’ll see some sense and do the right thing.” When Dustin remained silent, Lyra frowned. “I know you’re not happy with this, but this is reality,” she continued. “You might have helped Ms. Nicholson when she was in trouble, but she has repaid you for everything you’ve done for her over the last three years. In fact, you’re the one who owes her now!” “Is our marriage just a business deal to her, then?” Dustin took a deep breath to suppress the emotions within. “If she wants to divorce me, let her speak to me herself.” “Ms. Nicholson is very busy. She doesn’t need to trouble herself with such trifling matters.” “Trifling matters?” Dustin was stunned. Then he laughed bitterly. “Is that so? Is divorce a trifling matter to her? She can’t even find the time to speak to me. Truly, she’s that unattainable now!” “Dustin, don’t delay this any longer.” Lyra pushed the divorce agreement toward him again. “Just sign here and you’ll get a car and a house as compensation. On top of that, you’ll also get eight million dollars. This is more than what you’ll be able to earn in your lifetime!” “Eight million dollars is a lot, but…I don’t need it. I will sign the divorce papers if she comes personally. Otherwise, I won’t sign anything,” Duston said coldly. “Don’t go too far, Dustin!” Lyra slammed her hand on the table. “Don’t say I didn’t warn you. With all her power and resources, Ms. Nicholson can divorce you easily. It’s only because she appreciates her past relationship with you that she’s allowing you to keep your dignity intact. Don’t provoke her!” “My dignity?” Dustin was a little amused by that. She didn’t even want to speak to him directly to divorce him. What kind of dignity was that? Moreover, if she really did appreciate their relationship, then why was she threatening him now?
