An Understated Dominance Chapter 1491 by Marina Vittori

“Sir, what about this guy? You decide.” Abigail glared at Ezra, who was on his knees. If looks could kill, Ezra would be dead by now.

At that moment, Ezra snapped out of his daze, pleading, “Dustin, please don’t kill me! I messed up; I won’t mess with you again. I swear, I won’t cross you from now on! Please, spare me!”

“Spare you?” Dustin chuckled, “After all your ploys to mess with me, you think I’d just let you off? Does that even make sense?”

Ezra crawled over, grabbed Dustin’s leg, and bawled, “Dustin! No, Sir Rhys! It wasn’t me; it was all Eleanor’s crazy idea! I just followed orders. Please, I’m begging you, let me off the hook!”

“Eleanor?” Dustin narrowed his eyes. ” Tell me, was this attempt on my life payback, or did you have another scheme?”

Ezra didn’t hesitate and disclosed,” Due to the Dew Balm issue, we faced setbacks. So, Eleanor proposed to kidnap and rough you up.

“They’re hoping to extract more of top- notch formula to recover our losses and rebuild our reputation.”

“That woman is cold-blooded. I did her favors multiple times and even saved her life. And she pays me back with this revenge!

“She’s pushing me all my buttons. I’d be in deep trouble by now if I were just a regular guy,” Dustin said, his gaze cold.

“Yeah! That woman repays good deeds with bad. I never liked her!” Ezra nodded vigorously.

“Sir Rhys! Spare my life, and I’ll be your right-hand man. I can help you deal with Eleanor and make her pay for her crap!”

“Eleanor is your fiancée. Are you really okay with betraying her?” Dustin asked in a knowing tone.

“What fiancée? We’re just in an arranged marriage for the alliance between our families. There is no personal connection. Plus, who could like such a conniving woman?” Ezra complained. He’d never be with Eleanor if it weren’t for his old man’s strict orders.

“Given your sincerity, I’ll allow you to make things right,” Dustin said coolly.

“Go back and tell the Welch family they’ve got three days to hand over the precious herb I need. If not, I’m tearing them down.”

“Okay, I got it! I’ll deliver the message! “Ezra nodded repeatedly.

“I don’t want anyone else to know about today’s events. Got it?” Dustin glared menacingly at Ezra:

“Got it, got it!” Ezra nodded repeatedly.

“Alright. Now, scram.” Dustin waved his hand.

“Thank you, Sir Rhys!” Ezra nodded a few times, then hightailed it out of the old mansion. He looked as if he’d been scared out of his mind.

“Sir, he tried to harm you. You just letting him go?” Abigail was a bit puzzled. “This guy still has some use. Let him stick around a bit longer.” Dustin said it casually.

He could have easily killed Ezra, but that would surely cause both the Welch and Swanson families to come at him. He was not scared, but it could complicate things and mess with the bigger plan. So, he chose to instill fear in Ezra.

With Ezra’s words, he could spread how formidable Dustin was and make the Swanson family realize how pointless it was to mess with him. Then, he could simultaneously cut ties with the Welch family. This would leave the Welch family on their own, making them easier to handle.

“Alright, as long as you’re happy, Sir.” Abigail sweetly smiled. A nobody like Ezra was just small fries, and whether he lived or died wasn’t a big deal.

“Abigail, how long have you been in Oakvale?” Dustin changed the subject.

“I just got here.” Abigail spilled.

“The Mystic Arts Order snagged a big business deal recently. Grandma told me to lead the team-a chance to gain experience and enjoy a little vacation. You know, let loose and have some fun out here.”

Summary An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori

Dahlia Nicholson and Dustin Rhys had been married for three years. After Dahlia’s meteoric rise to success, she abandons the useless dead weight that’s Dustin, proposing divorce. Unbeknownst to her, everything she had ever achieved was only because of him.

Chapter 1 “Dustin, here is the divorce agreement prepared by Ms. Nicholson. All you need to do is sign them.” In the president’s office of the Quine Group, the secretary, Lyra Blaine, placed a piece of A4 paper on the table. A man sat opposite her, dressed in plain clothing. “Divorce? What do you mean?” Dustin Rhys was taken aback. “Do you not understand what I’m saying? Your marriage with Ms. Nicholson is over. You’re not even on the same level anymore. Your existence is nothing but a smear on the president’s reputation!” Lyra pulled no punches as she spoke. “A smear on her reputation?” Dustin frowned. “Is that how she thinks of me?” Back when they first got married, the Nicholson family was in ruinous debt. He was the one who helped them when they were at their lowest point. Now that they were rich, Dahlia Nicholson was ready to just kick him out. “Something like that.” Lyra jerked her chin toward the magazine on the table. A photo of a beautiful woman was printed on the front page. “Look at the headline on this magazine, Dustin. Ms. Nicholson’s net worth has hit one billion in the course of just three years, a feat no short of a miracle. She’s now the most desired woman in Swinton! With all this, she’s destined for greatness. But you, you’re just a regular joe. You don’t deserve her at all. I hope that you’ll see some sense and do the right thing.” When Dustin remained silent, Lyra frowned. “I know you’re not happy with this, but this is reality,” she continued. “You might have helped Ms. Nicholson when she was in trouble, but she has repaid you for everything you’ve done for her over the last three years. In fact, you’re the one who owes her now!” “Is our marriage just a business deal to her, then?” Dustin took a deep breath to suppress the emotions within. “If she wants to divorce me, let her speak to me herself.” “Ms. Nicholson is very busy. She doesn’t need to trouble herself with such trifling matters.” “Trifling matters?” Dustin was stunned. Then he laughed bitterly. “Is that so? Is divorce a trifling matter to her? She can’t even find the time to speak to me. Truly, she’s that unattainable now!” “Dustin, don’t delay this any longer.” Lyra pushed the divorce agreement toward him again. “Just sign here and you’ll get a car and a house as compensation. On top of that, you’ll also get eight million dollars. This is more than what you’ll be able to earn in your lifetime!” “Eight million dollars is a lot, but…I don’t need it. I will sign the divorce papers if she comes personally. Otherwise, I won’t sign anything,” Duston said coldly. “Don’t go too far, Dustin!” Lyra slammed her hand on the table. “Don’t say I didn’t warn you. With all her power and resources, Ms. Nicholson can divorce you easily. It’s only because she appreciates her past relationship with you that she’s allowing you to keep your dignity intact. Don’t provoke her!” “My dignity?” Dustin was a little amused by that. She didn’t even want to speak to him directly to divorce him. What kind of dignity was that? Moreover, if she really did appreciate their relationship, then why was she threatening him now?
