An Understated Dominance Chapter 1465 by Marina Vittori

“Hmph! You’re trying to go against us, are you? You’re just making things difficult for yourself!” Seeing Lana in such a mess, Eleanor smirked.

Business was a warzone. The Welch family was familiar with using underhanded tactics to make things go their way.

In the past, those who failed to show proper respect and refused to align themselves with the Welch family were destroyed. Clearly, it wasn’t going to be any different for the Camrons.

“Those are just rumors! Nothing but fabricated lies!” Matteo stepped out when he saw that Lana couldn’t handle the crowd.

He stated solemnly, “I guarantee with the Camron family’s reputation at stake that the entire production of Dew Balm adheres strictly to regulations.

“There can’t possibly be any problems with our products. What happened today is because someone is out to frame us!”

“That’s rubbish! I have concrete evidence that you are the reason my father died!” the man bellowed. As he said that, a woman rushed up to the corpse and began wailing miserably, “Father! You have died a horrible death!

“You have done nothing but good deeds your entire life, but because of these evil people, you had your life taken away from you! How unfair!”

At the sight of that, camera shutters began clicking away again, capturing how woeful the woman appeared. Condemnation from the onlookers intensified, and things started to get out of hand.

“A life for a life! Since the Camrons have killed someone, they should bear full responsibility for it!” Ezra began to fan the onlookers’ rage.

“That’s right! The Welch and Swanson families are for the nation and the people! We will never watch on as the Camrons oppress and bully the weak!” Eleanor backed Ezra up.

Not only did she slander the Camrons, she even praised her family while at it. Just then, several cars sped up and pulled up by the roadside.

The doors opened up to reveal several men in uniforms. They marched in authoritatively. Everyone made way for them as they passed through.

“Who among you is the founder of Dew Balm?” A bald man who was at the forefront swept his gaze over them. He looked like he was up to no good.

“I am.” Lana stepped forward and asked, “May I know what seems to be the issue, sir?”

“We’re from the Food and Drug Administration. According to our research, we’ve found that the Dew Balm has a high content of harmful substances. That is a serious violation of the law.

“I now declare that your company shall permanently cease operations. The Dew Balm is to be banned and taken down from the market. It is not to be sold anymore!” the bald man announced loudly.

“What?” Lana’s expression fell. “The Dew Balm has been through a strict inspection. How can there possibly be any issues with it?”

“It isn’t up to you to decide whether there’s a problem with it. Now, I need you to come with me for further investigation!” The bald man stared at her icily.

“Sir, the Dew Balm has already taken a life. All relevant individuals must be appended, especially that person over there!”

Eleanor suddenly pointed a finger at Dustin and said viciously, “As far as I know, he’s the one who came up with the formula for Dew Balm.

“Now that someone’s dead because of it, he should bear the responsibility! He needs to be severely punished!”

“Oh? Is that so?” The bald man’s gaze swept over to Dustin sharply. Then, with a wave of his hand, he yelled, “I can tell just from his looks that he’s despicable. Arrest him at once!

Once they received his order, several men in uniform behind him immediately pulled out handcuffs.

“Wait a minute!” Lana stopped them. This has got nothing to do with others. If there’s anything wrong with Dew Balm, it is my responsibility to bear. No one else is to be implicated!”

“Lana, you better think this through. There’s a life involved, so this will be a serious case. If you get detained, you won’t be getting out any time soon.

“Is it worth it to take the blame for a little boy toy?” Eleanor asked nastily.

“Hah! I dare not claim to be a saint, but I will never repay kindness with ingratitude! I’m not so heartless!” Lana sneered.

“You!” Eleanor’s expression twisted with anger. “Fine! Do you like going to jail? Have it your way!

“Arrest her and punish her severely!”

“Arrest them!” The bald man gave orders to his men with a wave of his hand. He had Lana cuffed.

But just as they were about to haul her into their vehicle, Dustin, who had stood by watching, spoke up, “Hang on … I have something to say.”

“What? Are you going to obstruct the enforcement of the law?” The bald man shot Dustin a glare.

“The law? What law?”

Summary An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori

Dahlia Nicholson and Dustin Rhys had been married for three years. After Dahlia’s meteoric rise to success, she abandons the useless dead weight that’s Dustin, proposing divorce. Unbeknownst to her, everything she had ever achieved was only because of him.

Chapter 1 “Dustin, here is the divorce agreement prepared by Ms. Nicholson. All you need to do is sign them.” In the president’s office of the Quine Group, the secretary, Lyra Blaine, placed a piece of A4 paper on the table. A man sat opposite her, dressed in plain clothing. “Divorce? What do you mean?” Dustin Rhys was taken aback. “Do you not understand what I’m saying? Your marriage with Ms. Nicholson is over. You’re not even on the same level anymore. Your existence is nothing but a smear on the president’s reputation!” Lyra pulled no punches as she spoke. “A smear on her reputation?” Dustin frowned. “Is that how she thinks of me?” Back when they first got married, the Nicholson family was in ruinous debt. He was the one who helped them when they were at their lowest point. Now that they were rich, Dahlia Nicholson was ready to just kick him out. “Something like that.” Lyra jerked her chin toward the magazine on the table. A photo of a beautiful woman was printed on the front page. “Look at the headline on this magazine, Dustin. Ms. Nicholson’s net worth has hit one billion in the course of just three years, a feat no short of a miracle. She’s now the most desired woman in Swinton! With all this, she’s destined for greatness. But you, you’re just a regular joe. You don’t deserve her at all. I hope that you’ll see some sense and do the right thing.” When Dustin remained silent, Lyra frowned. “I know you’re not happy with this, but this is reality,” she continued. “You might have helped Ms. Nicholson when she was in trouble, but she has repaid you for everything you’ve done for her over the last three years. In fact, you’re the one who owes her now!” “Is our marriage just a business deal to her, then?” Dustin took a deep breath to suppress the emotions within. “If she wants to divorce me, let her speak to me herself.” “Ms. Nicholson is very busy. She doesn’t need to trouble herself with such trifling matters.” “Trifling matters?” Dustin was stunned. Then he laughed bitterly. “Is that so? Is divorce a trifling matter to her? She can’t even find the time to speak to me. Truly, she’s that unattainable now!” “Dustin, don’t delay this any longer.” Lyra pushed the divorce agreement toward him again. “Just sign here and you’ll get a car and a house as compensation. On top of that, you’ll also get eight million dollars. This is more than what you’ll be able to earn in your lifetime!” “Eight million dollars is a lot, but…I don’t need it. I will sign the divorce papers if she comes personally. Otherwise, I won’t sign anything,” Duston said coldly. “Don’t go too far, Dustin!” Lyra slammed her hand on the table. “Don’t say I didn’t warn you. With all her power and resources, Ms. Nicholson can divorce you easily. It’s only because she appreciates her past relationship with you that she’s allowing you to keep your dignity intact. Don’t provoke her!” “My dignity?” Dustin was a little amused by that. She didn’t even want to speak to him directly to divorce him. What kind of dignity was that? Moreover, if she really did appreciate their relationship, then why was she threatening him now?
