An Understated Dominance Chapter 1461 by Marina Vittori

“Why are they here?” Lana exchanged a look with Matteo. Their expressions turned grave.

The people who had just gotten out of the cars were not guests who were here to congratulate them on the launch. Instead, they were people from the Welch and the Swanson families.

They clearly did not come bearing good intentions. However, Dustin did not seem to show much of a reaction. He seemed to have expected this.

With how the Welch and the Swanson families were, they would not have allowed the Camron family to benefit from what they believed was theirs. They would surely send people over to mess up the launch.

“It’s been a long time, Mr. Camron. How are you?” Alistair approached with a group of his men following behind him. There was an insincere smile on his face.

“Welcome, Mr. Welch.” Matteo, too, had an insincere smile on his face.

“I heard that the Camron family has recently developed a miraculous remedial medicine and will officially launch today. Is that true?” Alistair asked with a smile.

“The young people are just trying their hand at it. It’s nothing worth mentioning.” Matteo waved his hand dismissively.

“You’re being too modest, Mr. Camron. Your medicine has a good reputation in the pharmaceutical field. In fact, it even trumps that of our Rejuvenaid!

“Now that you’re releasing it, I’m afraid you’ll be leaving us with no business now!” Alistair said meaningfully.

“You must be joking, Mr. Welch. We’re just playing around with our small business. How can it ever be a competition for the large-scale business you’re dealing with?” Matteo answered with a fake smile.

“Well, if there’s no competition, then you might as well join us. We can bring in the money together. What do you say?” Alistair’s eyes narrowed.

“Well…” Matteo looked hesitant. The old fox actually had his eyes on the fruits of their labor from the research they’ve done! How greedy!

“Mr. Welch, we, Camrons, are used to keeping to ourselves. We dislike joint ventures, so thank you for your kind gesture, but no thanks,” Lana politely declined.

“Lana, we are only inviting you to join us because we see potential in you. should know what’s good for you,” Eleanor quipped coldly.

“That’s right. Smart people should know how to adapt to circumstances.

“As long as you give us the formula of Dew Balm, we can be good partners. But if you do not, we will only be competitors from now on,” Ezra said.

Alistair watched quietly with a smile on his face. If the Camrons accepted their proposal while they were being civil, he didn’t mind sharing part of their profit. But if they do not, he would start taking action.

“What? Are you threatening us right now?” A frosty expression came over Lana’s face.

“So what if we are?” Eleanor huffed contemptuously.

“You, Camrons, aren’t even fit to be called elites. How will you even go against two influential families like ours?

“If you know what’s good for you, hand us the formula at once! You might be able to gain some benefits if you do. Otherwise, don’t blame us when things get nasty!”

How dare a second-tiered family challenge two elite families? They truly overestimated themselves! Lana frowned, her expression dark.

Beside her, Matteo’s smile faded away quickly, too. They knew there was bound to be a fallout between both parties, but they didn’t expect the Welch and Swanson families to straight up burn bridges.

“When things get nasty?” Dustin suddenly laughed. “You sound really confident! Do you, Welchs, really think you can do things as you please?”

“Dustin Rhys! So it was you!” Eleanor’s gaze zeroed in on him as she said frostily, “You shameless bastard!

“The Welch family has been nothing but nice to you! How could you betray us?

“You gave us a sub-par formula and even teamed up with the Camron family to bring our business down! You’re really heartless!”

“Shameless? Heartless?” Dustin smirked and looked at her like she was an idiot.

“Eleanor, are you hearing yourself? I saved your and your grandfather’s lives and even gave your family a formula that could make you rich!

“And what happens? You went back on your word and didn’t deliver what you promised! In fact, you even tried to murder me just to have the formula for yourself!”

Summary An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori

Dahlia Nicholson and Dustin Rhys had been married for three years. After Dahlia’s meteoric rise to success, she abandons the useless dead weight that’s Dustin, proposing divorce. Unbeknownst to her, everything she had ever achieved was only because of him.

Chapter 1 “Dustin, here is the divorce agreement prepared by Ms. Nicholson. All you need to do is sign them.” In the president’s office of the Quine Group, the secretary, Lyra Blaine, placed a piece of A4 paper on the table. A man sat opposite her, dressed in plain clothing. “Divorce? What do you mean?” Dustin Rhys was taken aback. “Do you not understand what I’m saying? Your marriage with Ms. Nicholson is over. You’re not even on the same level anymore. Your existence is nothing but a smear on the president’s reputation!” Lyra pulled no punches as she spoke. “A smear on her reputation?” Dustin frowned. “Is that how she thinks of me?” Back when they first got married, the Nicholson family was in ruinous debt. He was the one who helped them when they were at their lowest point. Now that they were rich, Dahlia Nicholson was ready to just kick him out. “Something like that.” Lyra jerked her chin toward the magazine on the table. A photo of a beautiful woman was printed on the front page. “Look at the headline on this magazine, Dustin. Ms. Nicholson’s net worth has hit one billion in the course of just three years, a feat no short of a miracle. She’s now the most desired woman in Swinton! With all this, she’s destined for greatness. But you, you’re just a regular joe. You don’t deserve her at all. I hope that you’ll see some sense and do the right thing.” When Dustin remained silent, Lyra frowned. “I know you’re not happy with this, but this is reality,” she continued. “You might have helped Ms. Nicholson when she was in trouble, but she has repaid you for everything you’ve done for her over the last three years. In fact, you’re the one who owes her now!” “Is our marriage just a business deal to her, then?” Dustin took a deep breath to suppress the emotions within. “If she wants to divorce me, let her speak to me herself.” “Ms. Nicholson is very busy. She doesn’t need to trouble herself with such trifling matters.” “Trifling matters?” Dustin was stunned. Then he laughed bitterly. “Is that so? Is divorce a trifling matter to her? She can’t even find the time to speak to me. Truly, she’s that unattainable now!” “Dustin, don’t delay this any longer.” Lyra pushed the divorce agreement toward him again. “Just sign here and you’ll get a car and a house as compensation. On top of that, you’ll also get eight million dollars. This is more than what you’ll be able to earn in your lifetime!” “Eight million dollars is a lot, but…I don’t need it. I will sign the divorce papers if she comes personally. Otherwise, I won’t sign anything,” Duston said coldly. “Don’t go too far, Dustin!” Lyra slammed her hand on the table. “Don’t say I didn’t warn you. With all her power and resources, Ms. Nicholson can divorce you easily. It’s only because she appreciates her past relationship with you that she’s allowing you to keep your dignity intact. Don’t provoke her!” “My dignity?” Dustin was a little amused by that. She didn’t even want to speak to him directly to divorce him. What kind of dignity was that? Moreover, if she really did appreciate their relationship, then why was she threatening him now?
