An Understated Dominance Chapter 1420 by Marina Vittori

“Have we? I don’t remember anything. “Dustin replied calmly.

“Let me ask you, do you know who I am?” Dante asked another question. “I just found out you’re Dante Fallon, a Cardinal Dragon Marshal,” Dustin replied.

“If you already know my title, why aren’t you afraid?” Dante was a little curious. Normal people would be trembling in fear whenever they saw him. And yet, this guy before him was calm and collected. It was as if he didn’t care about him.

Was he a fool? Or did he have a strong backing?

“Why should I be afraid?” Dustin replied calmly, “Oakvale is not a lawless place. Your nephew wanted to fight, and he lost. Everyone here witnessed it.

“Besides, the Fallon family is an ancient house in Oakvale. Are you trying to turn the heat on me based on your status?”!

“Haha, smarty pants.” Dante narrowed his eyes. Then, he said, “But you’re right. Dexter lost because he was useless. The Fallon family will not intimidate the weak just because we’re strong. Nevertheless, I can’t let you go because you hit one of us.

“What do you have in mind, Sir Dante? Dustin asked.

“One will rise where one fell,” Dante said calmly.

“Do you dare to fight the Fallons again in three days?” he asked. “A no-holds- barred match.”

The younger generation had embarrassed the Fallon family. Hence, it’d be their duty to repair the reputation. The Fallon family had always been very serious when it came to winning fights.

“I’d be much obliged if Sir Dante so wishes. However, I’d like to place a bet, “Dustin said.

“Is that so? What would you like to bet? Tell me more.” Dante held his chin. “It’s a very simple bet. If I win, the Fallon family will owe me a favor.”

“Win? Hahaha!” Dante laughed. “Hey, kid, do you know what you’re talking about? Who do you think the Fallons are? Sacks of potatoes?”

When compared to the rest of the family, Dexter’s combat skills were average. He’d at most rank tenth among them.

The real combat talents the Fallon family meticulously groomed and nurtured had never revealed themselves in public. How could a stray kid like Dustin Rhys defeat the gifted fighters of the Fallon family?

“Sir Dante, my only question is, are you willing to bet or not?” Dustin asked with a cool expression.

“You want to bet? Fine! Be my guest!” Dante agreed to the bet right away and turned the tables against Dustin. “But, what if you lose?”

“If I lose, I surrender my fate to you,” Dustin replied.

“Great! You’ve got guts! See you in three days!” Dante smirked. With so many adept fighters within the Fallon family, it’d be an embarrassment if they couldn’t defeat this stray. They’d be better off dead.

“It’s a deal,” Dustin replied with a faint smile.

“Retreat!” Dante waved and left with his troops without saying another word. “Wait…” Harper was suddenly nervous when she saw what was happening.

She ran forward in a hurry and said, Sir Dante! Don’t believe him! He’s lying to all of you. If you let him go today, he’ll be gone tomorrow!”

“Are you teaching me how to handle my business?” Dante looked upset.

“You’re an important person, and you have no idea how deceiving others are. I know Dustin Rhys very well. He’s very sly and shameless. You must not believe him!” Harper tried her best to get her advice across.

“There’s no one that the Fallon family cannot find. It doesn’t matter where they are,” Dante said coldly.

“But-”

Harper wanted to say something else, but Dante gave her a sound slap on the cheek before she could.

He shouted, “Are you done? How dare you speak in front of me? Are you tired of living? Get away from me!”

It was a very powerful slap. Harper was struck so hard that she could see stars, and she fell on the floor right away.

Her face became red and swollen at the speed that the naked eyes could see. Her lips were smacked to the side, and blood trickled out from the corner of her mouth.

“Sir Dante! Please don’t be angry, Sir Dante!” When Cody saw that things had taken a bad turn, he immediately ran forward with an apologetic smile.

He said, “I am from the Ostrower family, and she’s my mentee. Could you please do me a favor and spare her?”

“A favor?” Dante turned to glare at him and slapped him as well. “Who do you think you are? Asking for a favor from me? Do you deserve it?”

“No, it’s alright! No …” Cody covered his face nervously.

“Too late!” Dante waved his hand and ordered, “Take these two meddling fools away and give them eighty strokes with the whip! I want them crippled!”

Cody’s face paled, and his knees went weak as he collapsed on the floor right away when he heard that.

Summary An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori

Dahlia Nicholson and Dustin Rhys had been married for three years. After Dahlia’s meteoric rise to success, she abandons the useless dead weight that’s Dustin, proposing divorce. Unbeknownst to her, everything she had ever achieved was only because of him.

Chapter 1 “Dustin, here is the divorce agreement prepared by Ms. Nicholson. All you need to do is sign them.” In the president’s office of the Quine Group, the secretary, Lyra Blaine, placed a piece of A4 paper on the table. A man sat opposite her, dressed in plain clothing. “Divorce? What do you mean?” Dustin Rhys was taken aback. “Do you not understand what I’m saying? Your marriage with Ms. Nicholson is over. You’re not even on the same level anymore. Your existence is nothing but a smear on the president’s reputation!” Lyra pulled no punches as she spoke. “A smear on her reputation?” Dustin frowned. “Is that how she thinks of me?” Back when they first got married, the Nicholson family was in ruinous debt. He was the one who helped them when they were at their lowest point. Now that they were rich, Dahlia Nicholson was ready to just kick him out. “Something like that.” Lyra jerked her chin toward the magazine on the table. A photo of a beautiful woman was printed on the front page. “Look at the headline on this magazine, Dustin. Ms. Nicholson’s net worth has hit one billion in the course of just three years, a feat no short of a miracle. She’s now the most desired woman in Swinton! With all this, she’s destined for greatness. But you, you’re just a regular joe. You don’t deserve her at all. I hope that you’ll see some sense and do the right thing.” When Dustin remained silent, Lyra frowned. “I know you’re not happy with this, but this is reality,” she continued. “You might have helped Ms. Nicholson when she was in trouble, but she has repaid you for everything you’ve done for her over the last three years. In fact, you’re the one who owes her now!” “Is our marriage just a business deal to her, then?” Dustin took a deep breath to suppress the emotions within. “If she wants to divorce me, let her speak to me herself.” “Ms. Nicholson is very busy. She doesn’t need to trouble herself with such trifling matters.” “Trifling matters?” Dustin was stunned. Then he laughed bitterly. “Is that so? Is divorce a trifling matter to her? She can’t even find the time to speak to me. Truly, she’s that unattainable now!” “Dustin, don’t delay this any longer.” Lyra pushed the divorce agreement toward him again. “Just sign here and you’ll get a car and a house as compensation. On top of that, you’ll also get eight million dollars. This is more than what you’ll be able to earn in your lifetime!” “Eight million dollars is a lot, but…I don’t need it. I will sign the divorce papers if she comes personally. Otherwise, I won’t sign anything,” Duston said coldly. “Don’t go too far, Dustin!” Lyra slammed her hand on the table. “Don’t say I didn’t warn you. With all her power and resources, Ms. Nicholson can divorce you easily. It’s only because she appreciates her past relationship with you that she’s allowing you to keep your dignity intact. Don’t provoke her!” “My dignity?” Dustin was a little amused by that. She didn’t even want to speak to him directly to divorce him. What kind of dignity was that? Moreover, if she really did appreciate their relationship, then why was she threatening him now?
