An Understated Dominance Chapter 1402 by Marina Vittori

Within the Inner City was the City of Aylka, symbolizing supreme power. It was a sacred place that countless ambitious individuals dreamt of being in.

It was also where Dustin intended to seek the truth and justice. However, now was not the time for that.

Inner City was quite congested, as it happened to be rush hour. Even though Dustin had left an hour early, it was already dark when he finally arrived at his destination.

Natasha hosted the celebration at Skylight Heights Hotel, a luxurious five -star hotel. The venue was perfect for hosting a grand celebration as it offered a wide range of entertainment facilities.

It was a high-end establishment with excellent service, making it the ideal choice for hosting such an event. Meanwhile, inside Banquet Hall One on the top floor of the hotel, a group of young men and women had come together.

They were all elegantly dressed, toasting their drinks and chatting happily. On stage, song and dance performances were constantly entertaining the audience below. The entire banquet hall was abuzz with vibrant energy.

“Cody, do you think Ms. Harmon will show up tonight?”

In a corner, a man and a woman were holding their wine glasses as they looked around anxiously. It was as if they were searching for someone. They were none other than Harper and Cody.

“Of course, she will!” Cody said confidently. He continued, “I’ve asked around.. Today is Dash Corporation’s celebration banquet. As the chairwoman, she’s bound to be here.. She’ll probably arrive shortly.”

“I’m a bit worried. Can Ms. Harmon really help us?” Harper expressed her concerns. She had been traumatized by the arson at Harmony Healers today. If she hadn’t stayed out all night yesterday, she might have already died in the flames.

Most importantly, the Swansons were the culprits behind the fire. So, Harper didn’t even dare report it.

To protect herself, she could only turn to Cody for help and seek assistance from those with even greater influence. That was why Cody had brought her to this place.

“Harper, I’m not even exaggerating. If you can convince Ms. Harmon to get involved, not only the Swansons, even the Welchs would need to yield!” Cody said seriously.

“She’s that powerful?” Harper’s eyes widened in surprise.

She asked, “Cody, who exactly is this Ms. Harmon?”

Cody glanced around and whispered, ” Harper, did you know that beyond Oakvale’s eight great families, there are also the four ancient houses?”

“I’ve heard something about it.” Harper nodded. The prominent and wealthy families were already the limit of her social circle. She didn’t even dare think about associating herself with the ancient houses of Oakvale.

They stood as the most powerful force below the royal family, standing at the pinnacle of Dragonmarsh. They were the kind of families that ordinary people could only admire from afar throughout their lives.

“Since you know about the four ancient houses, it’s easier to explain.” Cody nodded He continued seriously, “In truth, Ms. Harmon is from the Ballard family, one of the four ancient houses. Her grandfather is none other than the Duke of Lachshire, a highly influential figure in Aylka!”

“What? The Duke of Lachshire?” Harper was so surprised that her voice unintentionally rose a few octaves.

“Keep your voice down!” Cody’s expression shifted, and he quickly covered Harper’s mouth. Once he made sure that no one heard them, he slowly removed his hand.

“This is confidential information. You must not divulge it, or you’ll be in great danger!” he warned.

“Alright, alright…” Harper nodded repeatedly as she covered her mouth with her hands. Within moments, she was drenched in cold sweat. The woman she was meeting today was the granddaughter of the Duke of Lachshire. That was far from what she expected.

The Duke of Lachshire was such a prominent figure that they could easily request an audience with the King. With just a single step, he could make Oakvale tremble.

In the presence of such an authoritative figure, the Swansons and the Welches were like ants. They weren’t even worth mentioning!

With that thought, Harper became excited. If she could impress Natasha, she could align herself with the towering giant that was the Duke of Lachshire. With that connection, she could potentially achieve anything in Oakvale.

Summary An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori

Dahlia Nicholson and Dustin Rhys had been married for three years. After Dahlia’s meteoric rise to success, she abandons the useless dead weight that’s Dustin, proposing divorce. Unbeknownst to her, everything she had ever achieved was only because of him.

Chapter 1 “Dustin, here is the divorce agreement prepared by Ms. Nicholson. All you need to do is sign them.” In the president’s office of the Quine Group, the secretary, Lyra Blaine, placed a piece of A4 paper on the table. A man sat opposite her, dressed in plain clothing. “Divorce? What do you mean?” Dustin Rhys was taken aback. “Do you not understand what I’m saying? Your marriage with Ms. Nicholson is over. You’re not even on the same level anymore. Your existence is nothing but a smear on the president’s reputation!” Lyra pulled no punches as she spoke. “A smear on her reputation?” Dustin frowned. “Is that how she thinks of me?” Back when they first got married, the Nicholson family was in ruinous debt. He was the one who helped them when they were at their lowest point. Now that they were rich, Dahlia Nicholson was ready to just kick him out. “Something like that.” Lyra jerked her chin toward the magazine on the table. A photo of a beautiful woman was printed on the front page. “Look at the headline on this magazine, Dustin. Ms. Nicholson’s net worth has hit one billion in the course of just three years, a feat no short of a miracle. She’s now the most desired woman in Swinton! With all this, she’s destined for greatness. But you, you’re just a regular joe. You don’t deserve her at all. I hope that you’ll see some sense and do the right thing.” When Dustin remained silent, Lyra frowned. “I know you’re not happy with this, but this is reality,” she continued. “You might have helped Ms. Nicholson when she was in trouble, but she has repaid you for everything you’ve done for her over the last three years. In fact, you’re the one who owes her now!” “Is our marriage just a business deal to her, then?” Dustin took a deep breath to suppress the emotions within. “If she wants to divorce me, let her speak to me herself.” “Ms. Nicholson is very busy. She doesn’t need to trouble herself with such trifling matters.” “Trifling matters?” Dustin was stunned. Then he laughed bitterly. “Is that so? Is divorce a trifling matter to her? She can’t even find the time to speak to me. Truly, she’s that unattainable now!” “Dustin, don’t delay this any longer.” Lyra pushed the divorce agreement toward him again. “Just sign here and you’ll get a car and a house as compensation. On top of that, you’ll also get eight million dollars. This is more than what you’ll be able to earn in your lifetime!” “Eight million dollars is a lot, but…I don’t need it. I will sign the divorce papers if she comes personally. Otherwise, I won’t sign anything,” Duston said coldly. “Don’t go too far, Dustin!” Lyra slammed her hand on the table. “Don’t say I didn’t warn you. With all her power and resources, Ms. Nicholson can divorce you easily. It’s only because she appreciates her past relationship with you that she’s allowing you to keep your dignity intact. Don’t provoke her!” “My dignity?” Dustin was a little amused by that. She didn’t even want to speak to him directly to divorce him. What kind of dignity was that? Moreover, if she really did appreciate their relationship, then why was she threatening him now?
