An Understated Dominance Chapter 1392 by Marina Vittori

“Dr. Busch, selling Harmony Healers would be the wisest decision. Besides, aside from us, nobody else will buy it,” Eleanor advised in a gentle tone.

The Welchs and the Swansons controlled the entire South City. Who would dare take over Harmony Healers without their permission?

“I’m not selling! Not over my dead body! Don’t even think about taking Harmony Healers away from me!” Brooke yelled in frustration.

He had dedicated more than half of his life to building Harmony Healers into what it was today. How could he bear to sell it, especially to these power- hungry individuals?

He could tell that Harmony Healers would become nothing more than a money-making machine if it fell into their hands. That would completely tarnish its reputation!

“You’re not selling?” Ezra scoffed. “Dr. Busch, it would be best for you to reconsider before answering. It wouldn’t be wise to reject us.”

“I’ve lived long enough! My life is worthless anyway. I’m not afraid of you people!” Brooke screamed again with bloodshot eyes.

“Dr. Busch, I admire your integrity and fearlessness. But you shouldn’t just think about yourself. You should think about your family and future generations, too,” Ezra said with a sly grin.

Brooke froze at his words. It was as if he were struck by lightning. Ezra was right. He could be fearless and unyielding in the face of power, but what about his family?

These people were capable of arson and murder. Who knew what else they were capable of?

“Dr. Busch, if my memory serves me right, you seem to have a beautiful granddaughter, right?

“At such a young age, she should have a promising life ahead of her. It would be a pity if anything happened to her, don’t you think?” Ezra said with a sinister smile.

Brooke’s legs gave way, and he slumped to the ground with a loud thud. His face was drained of color as he lost all hope. He knew he wasn’t a match for Ezra.

No matter how stubborn or principled he was, resistance was futile in the face of such wealthy and influential figures. That wasn’t all; angering them could even lead to fatal consequences. That was the harsh reality.

No matter how hard he struggled, it was all in vain. He was left with no  choice but to yield. He no longer had the power to hold onto Harmony Healers.

“Oh my, Dr. Busch! Why did you fall? Come on now, let me help you up!” Ezra feigned concern and went up to Brooke, helping him up to his feet.

He patted the dust off Brooke’s clothes and smiled. “I was just joking. Why are you so nervous? Look at you! Why are you all sweaty?”

Brooke clenched his fists tightly, and his eyes flashed with resentment. But in the end, it turned into resignation. Slowly, he unballed his fists.

“Dr. Busch, so, have you reconsidered your decision? Are you selling or not?”

Eleanor put on a sincere expression.” You need to understand that I’m trying to help you.”

Their act of good cop and bad cop made Brooke nothing more than a puppet for them to toy with.

“I-I’ll sell!” Brooke spat out the words in humiliation.

“Hehe, that’s more like it.” Ezra chuckled, happy that he finally understood. “Great, this is the transfer contract. Sign here, and you will get 20 million. dollars. It would be enough to secure your family’s livelihood.”

Eleanor seemed to have prepared for this. She took out a contract from her bag and passed it to Brooke.

Brooke received the contract with trembling hands as tears streamed down his face. In the end, he couldn’t fight against the powerful elites.

Brooke let out a long sigh and tried not to think about it. He was about to put down his signature when a hand stopped him.

He then heard a calm voice. “Dr. Busch, I’ll take Harmony Healers. I’ll pay 30 million for it!”

Summary An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori

Dahlia Nicholson and Dustin Rhys had been married for three years. After Dahlia’s meteoric rise to success, she abandons the useless dead weight that’s Dustin, proposing divorce. Unbeknownst to her, everything she had ever achieved was only because of him.

Chapter 1 “Dustin, here is the divorce agreement prepared by Ms. Nicholson. All you need to do is sign them.” In the president’s office of the Quine Group, the secretary, Lyra Blaine, placed a piece of A4 paper on the table. A man sat opposite her, dressed in plain clothing. “Divorce? What do you mean?” Dustin Rhys was taken aback. “Do you not understand what I’m saying? Your marriage with Ms. Nicholson is over. You’re not even on the same level anymore. Your existence is nothing but a smear on the president’s reputation!” Lyra pulled no punches as she spoke. “A smear on her reputation?” Dustin frowned. “Is that how she thinks of me?” Back when they first got married, the Nicholson family was in ruinous debt. He was the one who helped them when they were at their lowest point. Now that they were rich, Dahlia Nicholson was ready to just kick him out. “Something like that.” Lyra jerked her chin toward the magazine on the table. A photo of a beautiful woman was printed on the front page. “Look at the headline on this magazine, Dustin. Ms. Nicholson’s net worth has hit one billion in the course of just three years, a feat no short of a miracle. She’s now the most desired woman in Swinton! With all this, she’s destined for greatness. But you, you’re just a regular joe. You don’t deserve her at all. I hope that you’ll see some sense and do the right thing.” When Dustin remained silent, Lyra frowned. “I know you’re not happy with this, but this is reality,” she continued. “You might have helped Ms. Nicholson when she was in trouble, but she has repaid you for everything you’ve done for her over the last three years. In fact, you’re the one who owes her now!” “Is our marriage just a business deal to her, then?” Dustin took a deep breath to suppress the emotions within. “If she wants to divorce me, let her speak to me herself.” “Ms. Nicholson is very busy. She doesn’t need to trouble herself with such trifling matters.” “Trifling matters?” Dustin was stunned. Then he laughed bitterly. “Is that so? Is divorce a trifling matter to her? She can’t even find the time to speak to me. Truly, she’s that unattainable now!” “Dustin, don’t delay this any longer.” Lyra pushed the divorce agreement toward him again. “Just sign here and you’ll get a car and a house as compensation. On top of that, you’ll also get eight million dollars. This is more than what you’ll be able to earn in your lifetime!” “Eight million dollars is a lot, but…I don’t need it. I will sign the divorce papers if she comes personally. Otherwise, I won’t sign anything,” Duston said coldly. “Don’t go too far, Dustin!” Lyra slammed her hand on the table. “Don’t say I didn’t warn you. With all her power and resources, Ms. Nicholson can divorce you easily. It’s only because she appreciates her past relationship with you that she’s allowing you to keep your dignity intact. Don’t provoke her!” “My dignity?” Dustin was a little amused by that. She didn’t even want to speak to him directly to divorce him. What kind of dignity was that? Moreover, if she really did appreciate their relationship, then why was she threatening him now?
