An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori Chapter 1329

Seated by the window on the second floor of Regal Court, Lana swirled her wine glass. Her gaze was fixed on the tranquil night outside. The moon and stars were mirrored in her beautiful eyes. It made her appear exceptionally charming.

“Ms. Camron.” At that moment, a bodyguard dressed in a suit approached her. He whispered, “We had an incident earlier. The target you asked us to keep an eye on has disappeared.”

“Disappeared?”

Lana raised an eyebrow. “What do you mean?”

“The target is quite strong. He took down dozens of people with his bare fists. Then, he disappeared without a trace,” the bodyguard replied with his head lowered.

“Oh? Doesn’t that mean he’s an excellent fighter?” Lana smiled, her expression betraying her growing interest in him.

“I thought he was just good-looking, but it seems like he’s got some skills. Have someone investigate him and find out about his background. If he’s on the right side, try to bring him over.”

“Understood!” the bodyguard replied and left quickly.

“Interesting. How interesting. I haven’t met someone this interesting in a while now.” Lana smiled faintly before downing her wine in one shot.

She had a feeling that she had come across a valuable treasure. Early the next morning, Dustin left his hotel and headed straight for Harmony Healers.

After shaking off the people following him the previous night, he checked into a hotel near Harmony Healers.

His primary goal of coming to Oakvale this time was to treat Cinna and investigate the events of the past. With his current skills and the help of the Celestial Pearl, he was finally capable of searching for the truth.

Five minutes later, Dustin walked into Harmony Healers. The place was as bustling as ever, filled with mostly middle-aged and elderly patients. It was as noisy as a market, with people chattering incessantly.

Dustin had already informed Brooke beforehand of his arrival. So, he proceeded directly to the second floor.

The door on the second floor was already open. Brooke had been waiting for him in the living room for some time.

“Dustin, you’re here? Please, have a seat.” Brooke extended a welcoming hand. Pouring him a cup of tea, he apologized, “I’m truly sorry for what happened last night. Even though Harper can be quite stubborn, she means no harm. I hope you won’t hold it against her.”

“No worries, it’s all in the past. I just hope she can behave herself going forward,” Dustin said with a faint smile. Harper was a stubborn and unreasonable woman. If it weren’t for Brooke’s sake, he wouldn’t have been so understanding.

Of course, as long as she didn’t cross his boundaries, he preferred not to be bothered about her.

“I’ll make sure to teach her manners from now on. If she continues down this path, she’ll get into trouble sooner or later,” Brooke said regretfully.

“By the way, Dr. Busch, how is Mr. Shaffer’s condition?” Dustin changed the subject. “I just checked on him. Cinna’s condition is still stable for now. But he can only stay that way for around ten days to two weeks.

“We’ll need to produce the Sanctifix as soon as possible.” Brooke’s expression turned solemn.

“Have you got any news on the three main ingredients for Sanctifix?” Dustin asked.

“I’ve already had someone look into it. While we don’t have any news on the Iceheart Lotus or Emerald Corolla, I do know where to find a Dragon Panax. But it’s a bit tricky to get.” Brooke sighed.

“Oh? Where is it?” Dustin perked up instantly.

“As far as I know, the Dragon Panax is the Welch family’s treasure. They rarely show it to others,” Brooke explained.

“The Welch family, one of Oakvale’s eight great families?” Dustin raised an eyebrow.

“Exactly.” Brooke nodded.

“I heard that Mr. Welch Senior has been in poor health, and they’re keeping the Dragon Panax for its life- extending properties. It’ll be incredibly difficult to get it from them.”

“It is pretty troublesome, but we have to try. Leave this matter to me,” Dustin said thoughtfully.

“Dr. Busch, please look more into information on the other two medicinal herbs while I’m at it.”

“No problem. I’ve already contacted my friends in the medical community. I believe it won’t be long before we get news on them,” Dr. Busch replied seriously.

Summary An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori

Dahlia Nicholson and Dustin Rhys had been married for three years. After Dahlia’s meteoric rise to success, she abandons the useless dead weight that’s Dustin, proposing divorce. Unbeknownst to her, everything she had ever achieved was only because of him.

Chapter 1 “Dustin, here is the divorce agreement prepared by Ms. Nicholson. All you need to do is sign them.” In the president’s office of the Quine Group, the secretary, Lyra Blaine, placed a piece of A4 paper on the table. A man sat opposite her, dressed in plain clothing. “Divorce? What do you mean?” Dustin Rhys was taken aback. “Do you not understand what I’m saying? Your marriage with Ms. Nicholson is over. You’re not even on the same level anymore. Your existence is nothing but a smear on the president’s reputation!” Lyra pulled no punches as she spoke. “A smear on her reputation?” Dustin frowned. “Is that how she thinks of me?” Back when they first got married, the Nicholson family was in ruinous debt. He was the one who helped them when they were at their lowest point. Now that they were rich, Dahlia Nicholson was ready to just kick him out. “Something like that.” Lyra jerked her chin toward the magazine on the table. A photo of a beautiful woman was printed on the front page. “Look at the headline on this magazine, Dustin. Ms. Nicholson’s net worth has hit one billion in the course of just three years, a feat no short of a miracle. She’s now the most desired woman in Swinton! With all this, she’s destined for greatness. But you, you’re just a regular joe. You don’t deserve her at all. I hope that you’ll see some sense and do the right thing.” When Dustin remained silent, Lyra frowned. “I know you’re not happy with this, but this is reality,” she continued. “You might have helped Ms. Nicholson when she was in trouble, but she has repaid you for everything you’ve done for her over the last three years. In fact, you’re the one who owes her now!” “Is our marriage just a business deal to her, then?” Dustin took a deep breath to suppress the emotions within. “If she wants to divorce me, let her speak to me herself.” “Ms. Nicholson is very busy. She doesn’t need to trouble herself with such trifling matters.” “Trifling matters?” Dustin was stunned. Then he laughed bitterly. “Is that so? Is divorce a trifling matter to her? She can’t even find the time to speak to me. Truly, she’s that unattainable now!” “Dustin, don’t delay this any longer.” Lyra pushed the divorce agreement toward him again. “Just sign here and you’ll get a car and a house as compensation. On top of that, you’ll also get eight million dollars. This is more than what you’ll be able to earn in your lifetime!” “Eight million dollars is a lot, but…I don’t need it. I will sign the divorce papers if she comes personally. Otherwise, I won’t sign anything,” Duston said coldly. “Don’t go too far, Dustin!” Lyra slammed her hand on the table. “Don’t say I didn’t warn you. With all her power and resources, Ms. Nicholson can divorce you easily. It’s only because she appreciates her past relationship with you that she’s allowing you to keep your dignity intact. Don’t provoke her!” “My dignity?” Dustin was a little amused by that. She didn’t even want to speak to him directly to divorce him. What kind of dignity was that? Moreover, if she really did appreciate their relationship, then why was she threatening him now?
