An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori Chapter 1215

“Ever since a new leader took over the Harmon family, the family bowed to the Grant family. They even took over the Harmon family’s properties.

I think Tyler Grant will show his true colors soon after the engagement.” Natasha’s expression became serious.

The dispute within the Harmon family brought about bad blood among the brothers. Families were now enemies. It was a serious crisis in the family.

Fortunately, she foresaw this. She had transferred the properties under her name to Oakvale. By doing so, she had protected some of the family’s foundation.

“Natasha, speaking of the Harmon family, what does your father think of all this?” Dustin asked. With Hector’s network and reputation, he had a high chance of winning if hedecided to fight back.

“My father is still trying his best to salvage the situation. He’s trying to talk some sense into my uncles. However, I don’t think it’s working.” Natasha shook her head. Her father was a good man. Too good to a fault, in fact.

He was a sentimental person and kept making compromises. All because he didn’t want to antagonize his brothers. As the feud continued, the family was slowly falling apart.

“Looks like your father still has his concerns. However, he must be decisive and ruthless to resolve the issue,” Dustin advised.

It was a good thing that he respected the relationship with his brothers. However, the situation would only worsen if he kept giving in.

“I hope that my father comes to this realization soon,” Natasha said with a complicated expression. She could turn the tide in her father’s favor. The only problem was that her father didn’t want to fight.

“Oh, and…” Natasha suddenly remembered something and took out an exquisite sachet from her bag. She gave it to Dustin. “It’s your birthday tomorrow, and this is a gift from my father.”

“Please give him my thanks.” Dustin flashed her a smile.

“Open it and take a look.” Natasha gave him a look. “Now?” After gaining her approval, Dustin untied the sachet slowly. From inside, he took out a carefully preserved piece of parchment. He unfurled the parchment and saw a mysterious but incomplete drawing on it.

“Natasha, what’s this?” Dustin was a little astounded. “This is the Harmon family heirloom, the treasure map. This is also what Tyler Grant is after. Now, my father has gifted it to you.” Natasha smiled.

“What? The family treasure map?” Dustin was stunned and immediately waved his hands.

“No way, this is too much! I can’t accept this!”

The Harmon family treasure was a gold mine, and it could potentially alter the course of events. The value of this treasure map was unimaginable.

“It’s just an incomplete piece of the original treasure map. My father sees no point in keeping it.

“He thought it’d be better to give it to you. You might have a better chance at finding the other missing pieces.” Natasha smiled.

“Natasha, this is your family heirloom. How could I possibly accept it?” Dustin shook his head again.

“My father has thought long and hard about it before giving it to you.”

Natasha explained, “With his current ability, he wouldn’t be able to keep this map safe for long. Tyler might steal it from him.

“Instead of losing the treasured map to an overly ambitious person, he wanted to give it to someone who is reliable to safeguard this map.”

“Well…” Dustin hesitated. Hector saw the treasure map as something more important than his life. Giving him the map meant that Hector had full confidence in him. Simultaneously, Dustin felt a heavy burden on him.

“That’s enough. Please don’t refuse the gift. This is a sincere gift from my father. Just accept it. It might be useful to you in the future.” Natasha smiled as she shoved the map into Dustin’s hands.

“Alright then. I’ll keep it safe on behalf of your father. I’ll return it to him when the Harmon family is at peace again.” Dustin finally nodded.

Hector gave him the treasure map because he trusted him. He also hoped that the treasure map would be used for the benefit of others.

It was night. Tyler was playing chess alone in his study in the Grants’ mansion.

Summary An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori

Dahlia Nicholson and Dustin Rhys had been married for three years. After Dahlia’s meteoric rise to success, she abandons the useless dead weight that’s Dustin, proposing divorce. Unbeknownst to her, everything she had ever achieved was only because of him.

Chapter 1 “Dustin, here is the divorce agreement prepared by Ms. Nicholson. All you need to do is sign them.” In the president’s office of the Quine Group, the secretary, Lyra Blaine, placed a piece of A4 paper on the table. A man sat opposite her, dressed in plain clothing. “Divorce? What do you mean?” Dustin Rhys was taken aback. “Do you not understand what I’m saying? Your marriage with Ms. Nicholson is over. You’re not even on the same level anymore. Your existence is nothing but a smear on the president’s reputation!” Lyra pulled no punches as she spoke. “A smear on her reputation?” Dustin frowned. “Is that how she thinks of me?” Back when they first got married, the Nicholson family was in ruinous debt. He was the one who helped them when they were at their lowest point. Now that they were rich, Dahlia Nicholson was ready to just kick him out. “Something like that.” Lyra jerked her chin toward the magazine on the table. A photo of a beautiful woman was printed on the front page. “Look at the headline on this magazine, Dustin. Ms. Nicholson’s net worth has hit one billion in the course of just three years, a feat no short of a miracle. She’s now the most desired woman in Swinton! With all this, she’s destined for greatness. But you, you’re just a regular joe. You don’t deserve her at all. I hope that you’ll see some sense and do the right thing.” When Dustin remained silent, Lyra frowned. “I know you’re not happy with this, but this is reality,” she continued. “You might have helped Ms. Nicholson when she was in trouble, but she has repaid you for everything you’ve done for her over the last three years. In fact, you’re the one who owes her now!” “Is our marriage just a business deal to her, then?” Dustin took a deep breath to suppress the emotions within. “If she wants to divorce me, let her speak to me herself.” “Ms. Nicholson is very busy. She doesn’t need to trouble herself with such trifling matters.” “Trifling matters?” Dustin was stunned. Then he laughed bitterly. “Is that so? Is divorce a trifling matter to her? She can’t even find the time to speak to me. Truly, she’s that unattainable now!” “Dustin, don’t delay this any longer.” Lyra pushed the divorce agreement toward him again. “Just sign here and you’ll get a car and a house as compensation. On top of that, you’ll also get eight million dollars. This is more than what you’ll be able to earn in your lifetime!” “Eight million dollars is a lot, but…I don’t need it. I will sign the divorce papers if she comes personally. Otherwise, I won’t sign anything,” Duston said coldly. “Don’t go too far, Dustin!” Lyra slammed her hand on the table. “Don’t say I didn’t warn you. With all her power and resources, Ms. Nicholson can divorce you easily. It’s only because she appreciates her past relationship with you that she’s allowing you to keep your dignity intact. Don’t provoke her!” “My dignity?” Dustin was a little amused by that. She didn’t even want to speak to him directly to divorce him. What kind of dignity was that? Moreover, if she really did appreciate their relationship, then why was she threatening him now?
