An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori Chapter 1208

Woody was not the only one surprised. Even Theodore and all the other martial artists present were shocked by what the one-eyed old man did.

Several of them were grandmasters with extraordinarily heightened senses. Nothing that went on around them went by undetected. However, none of them noticed the old man until he appeared before their eyes. It was beguiling indeed!

And the most terrifying part was that they did not sense the slightest energy waves coming from him. He looked just like any other old man. But how could an ordinary old man intercept Woody’s shot? That was clearly impossible!

There was only one possibility as to why they could not sense his powers. And that was because the old man’s powers were way beyond theirs!

“Who are you? How dare you meddle in the affairs of the Martial Arts Union?” Woody’s brow was knitted as he roared.

It was bad enough for them to have to deal with Dustin. It would only get increasingly difficult for them to deal with this elite expert who just popped up out of nowhere.

“What’s so great about the Martial Arts Union? Back when I left, none of you from the Martial Arts Union had been able to stop me,” the old man drawled as he picked his nose.

“How dare you?” Woody shot him a glare. “Who sent you, you loony old geezer? How dare you speak so boastfully? Do you have a death wish?”

“Boastful?”

The old man raised a brow as he picked out a dark piece of booger from his nose. Then, he flicked it at Woody. The piece of booger shot through a 100- yard distance and landed on Woody like a bullet.

With a loud explosion, Woody felt like he had been hit by a train. He was sent flying over ten yards away before he fell heavily to the ground like a sack of potatoes. Blood spilled out from his nose and his mouth. He shrieked in pain.

“What?” An uproar broke out among the onlookers. One had to be at least a grandmaster to be appointed as the leader of the Martial Arts Union.

But the old man had heavily wounded a grandmaster with just his booger? How unbelievable! Where did such a monster come from?

“Hey, brat, not even the head of the union, Cesar Fent, dares speak to me like that. Who the hell do you think you are?” The old man smiled menacingly.

Woody pounded on his chest as he coughed violently. There was an expression of incredulous fear on his face. “You… Who are you?”

A piece of the old man’s booger nearly took his life! How ridiculous! And most importantly, he did not fear the Martial Arts Union at all! He even addressed the head of the union by name!

If there was anything that Woody was sure of, it was that this old man wasn’t an ordinary old man. “Listen up, I go by the name Dobson Manier!” the old man announced as he continued picking his nose.

“Dobson Manier?”

Woody was taken aback when he heard the name. Then, his expression changed soon after. He looked terrified, and there was a tremble in his voice.

“You… You… You can’t be the ultimate grandmaster who spread chaos in Oakvale back then, can you? You’re…. the Drunken Maniac?”

Dobson Manier was known as the Tipsy Warrior. And because of how much he loved his alcohol, he was also called the Drunken Maniac. A decade ago, an unexpected event occurred in the City of Aylka, in Oakvale.

That night, every member of the Martial Arts Union was dispatched. Cesar Fent had personally led all of them to capture several criminals. The Drunken Maniac had been one of them.

Those from the Martial Arts Union had expected an easy fight. They thought they could complete their mission breezily. However, the moment they engaged in battle, they realized just how sorely wrong they had been.

The union had suffered a terrible defeat in that battle. Cesar was severely wounded, and the vice-head had lost his life. All the elders, guardians, and the leaders were either heavily injured or killed.

That was the only defeat the Martial Arts Union had ever experienced since its founding. It also became a taboo that was never brought up ever again.

So when Woody heard that he was the Drunken Maniac, nightmarish memories of what had happened that night hit him like a wave.

He began to tremble uncontrollably.

Summary An Understated Dominance by Marina Vittori

Dahlia Nicholson and Dustin Rhys had been married for three years. After Dahlia’s meteoric rise to success, she abandons the useless dead weight that’s Dustin, proposing divorce. Unbeknownst to her, everything she had ever achieved was only because of him.

Chapter 1 “Dustin, here is the divorce agreement prepared by Ms. Nicholson. All you need to do is sign them.” In the president’s office of the Quine Group, the secretary, Lyra Blaine, placed a piece of A4 paper on the table. A man sat opposite her, dressed in plain clothing. “Divorce? What do you mean?” Dustin Rhys was taken aback. “Do you not understand what I’m saying? Your marriage with Ms. Nicholson is over. You’re not even on the same level anymore. Your existence is nothing but a smear on the president’s reputation!” Lyra pulled no punches as she spoke. “A smear on her reputation?” Dustin frowned. “Is that how she thinks of me?” Back when they first got married, the Nicholson family was in ruinous debt. He was the one who helped them when they were at their lowest point. Now that they were rich, Dahlia Nicholson was ready to just kick him out. “Something like that.” Lyra jerked her chin toward the magazine on the table. A photo of a beautiful woman was printed on the front page. “Look at the headline on this magazine, Dustin. Ms. Nicholson’s net worth has hit one billion in the course of just three years, a feat no short of a miracle. She’s now the most desired woman in Swinton! With all this, she’s destined for greatness. But you, you’re just a regular joe. You don’t deserve her at all. I hope that you’ll see some sense and do the right thing.” When Dustin remained silent, Lyra frowned. “I know you’re not happy with this, but this is reality,” she continued. “You might have helped Ms. Nicholson when she was in trouble, but she has repaid you for everything you’ve done for her over the last three years. In fact, you’re the one who owes her now!” “Is our marriage just a business deal to her, then?” Dustin took a deep breath to suppress the emotions within. “If she wants to divorce me, let her speak to me herself.” “Ms. Nicholson is very busy. She doesn’t need to trouble herself with such trifling matters.” “Trifling matters?” Dustin was stunned. Then he laughed bitterly. “Is that so? Is divorce a trifling matter to her? She can’t even find the time to speak to me. Truly, she’s that unattainable now!” “Dustin, don’t delay this any longer.” Lyra pushed the divorce agreement toward him again. “Just sign here and you’ll get a car and a house as compensation. On top of that, you’ll also get eight million dollars. This is more than what you’ll be able to earn in your lifetime!” “Eight million dollars is a lot, but…I don’t need it. I will sign the divorce papers if she comes personally. Otherwise, I won’t sign anything,” Duston said coldly. “Don’t go too far, Dustin!” Lyra slammed her hand on the table. “Don’t say I didn’t warn you. With all her power and resources, Ms. Nicholson can divorce you easily. It’s only because she appreciates her past relationship with you that she’s allowing you to keep your dignity intact. Don’t provoke her!” “My dignity?” Dustin was a little amused by that. She didn’t even want to speak to him directly to divorce him. What kind of dignity was that? Moreover, if she really did appreciate their relationship, then why was she threatening him now?
